Morphy Richards 48715 S/Steel Oval SlowCooker 6.5L 19 of 19 Ciao Users found the following review helpful

Advantages Large Volume, 3 Temp Settings, Nice Aesthetics and Design

Disadvantages A few stipulations regarding foods that can be cooked and how to use the cooker, although these are general to Slow Cookers and not this model alone

This cooker comprises of a nice stainless steel outer shell, a big / heavy, sturdy ceramic inner pot and a toughened glass lid. Would tie in nicely if you have stainless steel / chrome appliances.

The removable ceramic pot has a capacity to 6.5ltr to the brim, with a recommended working capacity of 4.5ltr, plenty big enough to feed 4-6 people. The pot is dishwasher safe and can easily be transported to the table for serving.

The cooker is of an oval shape, rather than round, which allows you to cook joints of meat

The cooker has handles which don't conduct heat so the unit can be moved (for whatever reason) during cooking without burning yourself.

The lid is made from toughened glass, so you can monitor the food during cooking.

The reason I bought a slow cooker was so I could make some tasty meals, with little to no effort, and not have to hover around the hob for ages stirring dishes. Also the fact I could put something on before work, then have a nicely cooked meal for when I got home, sold it to me.

This slow cooker has 3 temperature settings; Low, Medium and High. Thus you can cook meals in 4 hours, or leave them longer for say 10 hours to give a genuine slow cooked flavour.

There are so many dishes that can be prepared in a slow cooker, recipes available on the net, in specialist slow cooking recipe books and there are a few included in the Instruction Booklet. You can make Curries, Soups, Casseroles, Stews, Puddings, Chillies etc.. Just give it a try and you'll be amazed.

There are a number of recommendations in the instructions, in regards to cooking methods. The heaviest root vegetables should be placed at the bottom of the pot with meat at the top, any stocks or liquids added should already be heated / boiling (as not to crack the pot or to slow the cooking time too much). Meat should be sealed / browned and you should take the lid off as little as possible during cooking, as heat will escape and add to the cooking time.I would definitely recommend this product. It looks good, has a large capacity, and if you lack time to cook a proper meal just throw the ingredients into this and leave it whilst you tend to more pressing needs. Also slow cooking certain dishes makes them taste even better.

Sound really good but when you say you can cook meals in there, i'm assuming you mean prepared meals ? Is there layers like in a steamer so you can cook a sunday roast without mixing all foods ? When you say it cooks curries, do you mean you put all raw ingredients in adn leave it on slow cook and hope it turns out nice ? - i prefer a wok ya see ;)
