I am a student living in a share house. So immediatly you think, dirt, dust, mess, mice....

...and you wouldn't be wrong. Unfortunatly!

And again, unfortunatly, I seemed to be the only member of the household that actually seemed bothered about it! Needless to say, a few attempts with the house vacuum cleaner proved useless, following my landlords need to vacuum up a load of plaster and dust, thus clogging it completely.

After a few weeks of nagging my landlord I gave up and purchased 'The Big Pod' Morphy Richards Bagless Vacuum Cleaner. Here is a list of the specification -

- Bagless full size Vacuum Cleaner
- 1800 watts (max power)
- Washable HEPA Filtration
- Large Capacity – 3.3 litres
- Translucent POD to show when it’s full
- Easy carry handle
- Foot controlled cable rewind
- Park position & storage position
- 1.8m long hose
- 32mm diameter
- Combination floor nozzle
- Crevice tool
- Snap-on furniture brush
- 2 Year Manufacturer\'s Guarantee

So why did I buy it! Well I was advised that I needed a good Wattage to give me some good suck! So 1800w it was. And I have not been dissapointed. The suction makes me feel like its given my carpet a good clean. It picks up anything loose on the carpet and when detached from the hose, sits comfortably in the hand and sucks very strongly (I have sucked up my curtains and dressing gown by accident many times)!

I have also used my vacuum to clean out my car, utilising the crevice tool and furniture brush supplied as extras. Very useful. Having to park on the street this little vacuum is very easy to carry or wheel outside and minimise fuss.

The attachment at the end of the hose, has the option of bristles down or up, which allows you to gather more hair off of your carpet. Good if you have pets or longish hair like myself! As long as you keep a tab on how much hair is stuck to this it is fine, but can cause loss of suction if left to build up.

The bagless feature is useful in that you do not have to buy bags! My logic for buying a bagless vacuum. However, it takes a few tries to get the hang of cleaning this out without getting dust everywhere! I suggest doing it outside the first time! Have a black bag ready! But being so small the front part of the pod completely detaches and can be washed out, as can the filter! A little brush is attached within the pid to help clear out crevices.

The pack comes with an extra filter and a 2 year Guarentee.

The pod can be stored so easily. It's size is perfect and it can sit upright, kind of on its hinde legs for a tidier shape to store. The hose extends when in use so for storage it can be reduced in size. Very easy on the arms when pushing back and forth, easy to drag along behind you. The pod has a large power button and a button that pulls in the cord, which is useful. Both of these buttons are in a prime position so can be tapped with the foot to avoid bending down!

I purchased The Big Pod for £60.00, which having compared it to other vacuums of the same spec is good. So I'm sure there are some bargains to be had out there!

Perfect for my needs, I cannot fault it. Hope this has been informative!
