i also own a kirby g6 but i have always had another vacuum that i can wip out on a daily basis and do the sofa and the edges and other such bits then twicw a week out comes the kirby and i have a really good go round.
in a word blindin my morphy richards is probably the best ordinary upright ever i have had many and none compare to this its very powerfull but in the same token its quite noisy but that doesnt bother me by the time i have madonna bangin out i dont hear it, it eats animal hair for brekfast lunch and dinner.
i have to vaccum twice daily and this machine pulls up every last hair around my carpets are quite thick pile and it leaves them groomed (as though u have stripped them like u would ur lawn lol) the dust pick up is unreal the dust levels have gone down tenfold since getting this vacuum i dust twice a week now instead of every day like i had to with my other vacuums (yes that includes that hideous invention the dyson) it has 1800 watt motor but seems like more and the tools dont lose any of the suction either as i have fopund many other models do, the only drawback is that it didnt come with the mini turbo head but i bought that seperatly from morphy richards thank god i need it my house, even with out the turbo head it pulle dthe hair off our sofa and (as much as i hate to admit it ) the bed (little monkeys always sneak in when ur not looking) with the turbo brush it swallows all the hair and dosent pullt eh duvet cover either and one of the cats actually likes to be vaccumed with it lol. the hose is really long and go full flight of stairs and then some, ther are 2 extension tubes a dusting brush and a crevice nozzle on the back as well and they never fall off. the tanl is large enough but i do empty it everyday and i clean the top filter bout once a month thing is it never seems to lose its power even when i have been really lazy and the tank is so full the hair is going down the hose lol,
its so easy to empty as well just take off the front and take out the tank dump it in the bin and put back together, its almost indestructable as well it has taken quite a few knocks and has been hit by my neighbours car (was cleaning mine when she parked and she didnt see the vacuum and hit it at 20 mph) and its still in one peace. it has coped with brick dust and soggy wallpaper and dosent seem to get blocked.
just wish the cable was a bit longer and it was a few lbs lighter but hay u cant have it all,
it has made an exellent addition to our home amd works really well alongside the kirby another good thing is never has that horrible doggy smell that my other vacs have had wether they were bagged or bagless,
for value for money i would so reccomend one especially if u have animals they do a model that comes with the mini turbo head but it wasnt in stock when i got mine hence i ordered the head myself
i would not waste hundreds of pounds on those dyson machines i have had 3 and none come close to my morphy richards
