Lloyds Travelmoney card
Review of Lloyds TSB by saperkins

Advantages: Would have been good if their quality assurance worked.
Disadvantages: Leave you stranded when their systems fail.

Lloyds Travelmoneycard BEWARE! My son has been stranded in Moscow for a week with no money because their systems have failed and the ATMs in many countries in the world cannot communicate with theirs in the UK. So much for a safe, reliable alternative to cash or travellers cheques - basically, reading between the lines, they have not kept up to date with changes in the international ATM systems and their software cannot cope. What makes it worse ...
...even though they knew my son was stranded without funds. They offered no help to get him money and will not compensate me for a mercy flight with cash. I still have hundreds of pounds on useless cards - their systems have not worked for in excess of 10 days. ... Read review

Barclays reallocates account numbers
Review of Barclays Bank by mpap

Advantages: OK when they have your money and things are going well.
Disadvantages: cannot cope with problems of their own making. Do not respond to letters.

...pensioner on fixed income. Barclays re-allocated my deposit account number into which my dividends were being paid and althouhg I asked the companies to use another account number, some carried on sending my dividends to the reallocated account. Barclays redirected them to my new account over a period and then stopped, without any warning to me. I have lost nearly £10,000 and Barclays has refused to do anyhting about it. Beware of Barclays and beware ... Read review

How Natwest robbed me
Review of National Westminster Bank by hersh.bhardwaj

Advantages: Can't thnk of any at the moment
Disadvantages: Data updating errors

Natwest relies on its good customers services and UK-based call centres. I had such a bad experience with the bank where the money I transffered from my bank to the payee never reached the payee. Natwest never bothered to inform me. The amount was taken from the account and never paid. This caused my Credit card provider(Natwest itself) to report me to debt collecters. Now legal proceedings and tons of penalty looms large all thanks to my reliable ...
...again in Jan, but the bank never either never had a clue, or had no time to communicate with us so that we could make alternative arrangements. On discussing the situation with them now all they say is that the money is in a 'temp' accout due to some problem. I ask them who is responsible for making me a defaulter? Would they? ... HBOS - Terrible Customer Service
Review of Halifax by cyclone4038

Advantages: Competitive Interest Rates
Disadvantages: Ignorant, uneducated customer services staff

If you ever have the misfortune to have to deal with HBOS Customer Services on legal issues pertaining to Scotland, forget it and take your business to RBS. I have a Guardianship Order which permits me full control of my Mother's financial & personal welfare because of her advanced dementia. She had online access to her account & when I presented the legal papers to the Branch, they saw no problems & duly recorded the legal documents. and issued ...
...notification, online access was withdrawn and it transpired that this was done because HBOS Customer Service (which falsely purports to be based in Dunfermline, but actually resides in Newcastle) referred to English based Court Protection Orders as the reason for this action. This totally contradicts the access privileges granted by the Scottish Sheriff Court. I have ascertained the Customer Service staff dealing with this have no legal qualifications ... Read review
