Moss Bros

At last I am back after months away tied up with moving, wedding and finding new work! It will probably not come as any surprise that I will write some reviews on my experiences surrounding my wedding to break myself back in gently! Don't expect great things, I am so rusty that I clank! We had originally decided that the hire of morning suits for our big day would come from Debenhams. I would just like to write a little review on Moss Bros, who are the people who sell suits and other suit-related garments. Established in 1851, it now has some 150 shops across the country and an internet shopping site (or should I say 'online shopping'). As already pointed out, this shop sells suits and other such related items for formal occasions and although I agree that on those special occasions (such as weddings/ proms/ etc) it is always a must to look good - at the prices that they charge, I could get a suit that looked almost identical for just a fraction of the price at Tesco. **This review deals only with using Moss Bros for suit hire, not purchase** My first encounter with Moss Bros was a fortnight before my wedding. I had assigned my husband-to-be just one task in the run up to our big day: hire suits for the 4 ushers and the best man. Inevitably, as we went through a final list of things needed for the wedding, he looked sheepish and confessed that he had got as far as a list of chest, neck, waist and leg sizes (which he subsequently proudly produced scrawled on the back of a beer mat) but hadn't got as far as a shop to hire the suits from. We went to Moss Bros to hire suits for the 7 men in the main wedding party. We chose Moss Bros over Debenhams as they had the colour scheme we wanted whereas Debenhams didn't. We ordered all 7 suits about six months before the wedding. We are only planning on getting married once, but my advice to others, only use Moss Bros as a last resort! PROBLEMS 1. About 6 weeks before the wedding grooms dad went in to be remeasured as he thought he has lost some weight. I recently got married and hired suits from moss bros in Plymouth,do not on any circumstances get your suits here.The suits came and out of 5 of them three were wrong some by at least two sizes so we had to go back in again and pick the replacements up.As well as this the waiscoats for the larger guys were only half ones ,they had no backs to them,and we were not told ab out this.Then one of the replacement suits was the wrong size again by this time its the day before the wedding,so we had to go in again to pick another one up.On the day of the wedding we only just noticed that the ... more
