Review of ABIT Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI - motherboard - ATX - nForce 650i SLI by
GazzieC
Advantages: Tonnes of features, Low price and more
Disadvantages: Can't think of any
I recently purchased this board as I wanted to build my first gaming rig without hitting the big numbers in price. All I can say about this is WOW... For £50-£60 which you can get this board for now you'd be really stupid to look elsewhere. As with other reviews one of the first things you notice about it is the Care and Attention to detail that is put into its construction and packaging. You feel you've brought something at a premium without the ... ...install and everything you need to use all the features of this board come in the box.
I havent had much chance to overclock with it yet but I hear its blinding. Im just waiting for my Q6600 SLACR edition cpu to turn up so I can have a dabble at overclocking. For a novice rig builder though I cannot rate this board enough. I looked at a lot of other more expensive boards out there, but I am so glad I went with this board instead.
Also the fact ...

Great board
Review of ABIT IP35 Pro - motherboard - ATX - iP35 by
AdamHonek
Advantages: Board layout, feature rich, performance
Disadvantages: Latest 16 BETA 1 BIOS won't allow using above 3GB with all of it being visible
...have a habit of buying Abit or Gigabyte boards. Great for overclocking be it a dual core or quad core CPU.
The IP35 PRO has a good layout, there's no problem installing a long graphics card or a large CPU cooler.
There's a clear CMOS switch on the rear I/0 shield which comes in handy. A POST LED on the board itself comes in useful should the PC not boot-up as the error code it shows goes some way to indicate where the problem is. Not many boards ... ...a high Vcore. Abit is still to fix the BIOS bug (all BIOS's after 11) that won't allow using more than 3GB in the system with all if it being visible. Currently using 4GB makes the BIOS only report 3GB. The current fix is to use BIOS 11 however this version is buggy in other ways. If only Abit fixed this things would be almost ideal. Overall great board, made for the enthusiast and a viable alternative to Asus boards. Abit's IP35 PRO feels snappier ...

An excellent Motherboard!!
Review of ABIT AS8 - motherboard - ATX - i865PE by
chevallier
Advantages: Quiet, Reliable, Easy to Set-Up and Install
Disadvantages: Crowded and cramped layout can lead to wiring issues
The Abit AS8 is a lot of board for the price. Setting up is a breeze - just plug in all the wires and switch it on. It supports the new generation of LGA775 Intel P4 cpus, has on board 6 channel sound which saves on buying a soundcard as it produces very good quality sound in games, dvd and music. It has an AGP 8x graphics interface which also supports AGP4x - can be useful if you're upgrading an old system and want to keep the cost down by canibalising ... ...from the CPU, unlike my Abit IS7 board which has a Northbridge fan but this means it's not really suitable for overclocking.
On the down side, the board does not have 1394 firewire support, which is a shame if you want to use a digital video camera for film editing of weddings / holidays etc, and perhaps it's worst crime is the layout of the various sockets. The floppy controller is located right on the edge of the board, we found that we could ...

ASUS FOR THE WIN
Review of ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe - motherboard - ATX - nForce4 SLI X16 by
SirWritealot
Advantages: cheap enough for the budget buyer with all the best features
Disadvantages: none that come to mind
i am a massive fan of all things ASUS
but i still look at there products in the same level of detail as any other brand
the first thing you notice when getting your motherboard is the quality of the packaging it is placed inside a strong anti-static packaging which is then inside a rather thick cardboard box with an outer (thinner) sleeve
it comes with all the relevant cables and bits you would need
including but not limited to :
sata data cables, ... ...once i had powered my PC up after installing this new board i was soon appreciating the advantages of full 16x sli i was using 2x 7900gt's on a motherboard which did not allow for full throttle sli
and the difference is noticeable
the overall quality of the motherboard is astounding
it comes with a very handy and helpful manual that is laid out cleverly and soon became my bible
this board has so many features
it does use DDR ram but to be honest ...

Amazing Motherboard
Review of ASUS P5N-E SLI - motherboard - ATX - nForce 650i SLI by
aasimenator
Advantages: Puchased for Intel Q6600, XFX 8800GTX 640MB & OCZ 4GB DDR2
Disadvantages: had to RMA because of 1 dead SATA Port, and 1 dead Memory Slot
You know that when building the perfect PC, the motherboard is as important as anything.
This motherboard supports the latest Intel® Quad-core processors in LGA775 package. It's excellent for multi-tasking, multi-media and enthusiastic gamers as i am. It's designed for great performance and overclocking(never tried it though)! With an NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI chipset and a front side bus capable of 1333/1066/533 MHz, your machine will be ready to ... ...support up to 8GB of DDR2 non-ECC unbuffered memory. DDR2 is the next generation memory technology to replace the current DDR. With the highest speed up to 800MHz, DDR2 memory provides great performance for 3D graphics and other memory demanding applications.
This great platform has 2 PCI Express x16 slots, 1 PCI Express x1, and 2 PCI 2.2 slots! There's Gigabit LAN, support for up to 8 USB 2.0 ports, and tons more features! If you are looking for ...
