mATX - Small, Sound, Old
Advantages: ATX-compatible, Power-efficient, Inexpensive, Supports ATA and SATA Disadvantages: Obsolete DDR Technology, Unsuitable for Gamers

Some Comments about DG31PR
Advantages: Too Much Disadvantages: Not too much
What is very important in this board is the multiple FSB and Processor support which are 1333, 1066, 800 MHz and Dual-Core / Quad-core.

Advantages: cost effective board from a respected manufacturer Disadvantages: only supports 2GB RAM and very limited overclocking abilities thanks to the 915 chipset.
...can be tweaked with the Asus utilities in Windows. The Intel ICH6 South Bridge chip supports 1x PATA UltraDMA 100/66/33 connection, allowing up to two devices to be fitted. Remember master and slave for good old IDE? That's up to two hard disks or CD drives on the one cable, or one of each configured as master and slave of course. 4 x Serial ATA ports are also available, for newer more modern SATA devices. The system supports SATA 1 transfers up ... ...the failsafe settings. A nice Asus feature as it means I don't have to reset the CMOS. Speed wise, this board gets 4.5 on the Vista Experience Index. Processor gets 4.5, Memory gets 5.6, Graphics, Gaming graphics and Primary hard disk all get 5.9. Interestingly enough, when I tried a totally stock 3.6GHz Cedar Mill P4 this also got 4.5, so I think Vista may have a maximum score of 4.5 for any single core Pentium 4, regardless of how high you overclock ...
