INTRODUCTION
When we switched from using a full infant car seat to a booster seat for our four year old daughter, one of the unexpected side effects was the loss of side support for her head when she fell asleep. We found she liked to flop forward against the seat belt, with her head unsupported and the belt itself chafing her uncomfortably around the throat area, and more often than not, waking her up. There is nothing quite like the peace and quiet you get when the kids are asleep, and parents with young children in particular, will fully appreciate the utility of the family car in conveying their precious cargo to the land of Nod. Conversely, there is nothing quite so grumpy or taciturn as a child prematurely roused from deep sleep, so to have our little one’s blissful slumber rudely interrupted by her seat belt was annoying to say the least. We tried a number of pillows and blankets, but she was such a fidget pot, they invariably worked loose or were thrown off.
THE “COSYSNOOZE”
The solution presented itself on a trip to Mothercare where we happened across the “Cosysnooze” seat belt pillow. It is a tubular white pillow about a foot long, which is covered by a separate soft velvet-like dark grey nylon cover trimmed in black. The pillow fits loosely inside the cover, and the two flaps, each edged along their whole length with black Velcro, allow you to attach the pillow securely in place over the seat belt. The child can then fall asleep on it without chafing and no danger of dislodging it.
CARE
The cover is easily removable for machine washing (the label recommends 40°C, but we find the more economical 30°C setting equally effective for getting it clean) but it won’t go in the tumble dryer and needs to be air dried. We have had it for over a year now and it has been washed several times already, keeping its colour and shape very well. The only minor niggle is that the cover could have been made a little more interesting for children, as the rather functional grey and black is not particularly inspiring. However, conversely it hides dirt and stains quite well.
PRICE & AVAILABILITY
We bought ours from our local Mothercare shop for £6.99. It can also be ordered from their web-site (http://www.mothercare.com – Product Code W1672-001) but the standard £4.95 delivery charge for all orders under £150 makes this a ridiculously expensive – and rather pointless - option.
VERDICT
This simple but effective pillow has now travelled with us up and down the country as well as abroad to Kefalonia and Cyprus and is now a tried, proven and invaluable accessory. It is very well put together, easy to fit and remove, and represents excellent value for money, and, as such, comes highly recommended.
I shall take a look for one of these! - great review x

We have a cozy cat for my daughter but she is still 3 1/2 and still in a car seat. She only ever needs to wear the cozy cat when my husband is driving otherwise her head is rolling all over the place however when I drive her head stays in one place! Which one of us is the slower driver!
