Advantages Advantages great gift idea for an expectant friend/relative

Disadvantages Disadvantages not very practical beyond 3 months

When both my sister and I were expecting my parents being excited grandparents-to-be couldn't wait for the arrival of their grandchildren before they indeed starting spoiling them and although like most parents didn't want to jinx anything by stocking up on too much as this is supposed to be bad luck they couldn't resist buying this one particular item - the Mothercare moses basket with stand. As my nephew was born 6 months prior to my daughter my sister got to use it first and once her son had outgrown it then as the normal family tradition goes it was passed down to me for my cherub to use ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to move around

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not used for very long

I bought a moses basket from mothercare for both my children when they were baby's. On both occassions i already had a cot but just didn't like the thought of them being so little, placed in a cot looking so lost. In a moses basket they looked so cosy and warm. The moses basket i had was plain white and frilly it came with a very basic mattress could have done with a bit more padding and a light quilt with a detachable washable cover. It did not come with any sheets but that was not a huge problem i just used a pram sheet or cot sheet and folded it over the mattress. The actual basket itself ... more

Advantages Advantages ready dressed except for a sheet, comes with mattress, colours easy to co-ordinate with other decor, inexpensive

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

Our daughter was born a few weeks early, and we did not have her crib nor her cot ready as they were being handmade. Out dashed Daddy to buy a Moses basket for our darling to sleep in until the projects were completed. We opted for the mix and match basket as the colours were cheerful, and they co-ordinated with the nursery bedding beautifully. We also liked the fact that it was not overly fussy in appearance and did not look out of place in our room or in our lounge. It looked like what it was, a small, cosy little basket for our little one to sleep in. that said, it is still adorable. The ... more

Advantages Advantages Great from small babies

Disadvantages Disadvantages The hood didnt like staying in place

The mothercare moses basket that we got was the winnie the pooh one which was in natural colours and look lovely for a newborn baby we got this as a gift and didnt expect to really use this but when our daughter was born at 6.5 we thought she looked too small for the cot and decided that if we put the moses basket in the cot until she was bigger then we would feel better about her going down at night. Complete with non-PVC, wipe-clean foam mattress which i thought was very easy to keep clean Adjustable canopy and a cover but the canopy can be annoying as sometimes had to battle with it to stay ... more

I got this moses basket for my first child who was born at the end of December 2000. I have always loved Mothercare products as they are well made and reliable. The fact that this particular item is in their Mix & Match range means that I can co-ordinate my babies room and other furniture and things. I bought a mothrcare pushchair and was able to match the basket to it. The basket is well made and practical, it comes complete with a special baby matress, which is most important for the safety of your child. I didn't actually buy this myself as it was a present from my parents so I am not too ... more
