What is their returns policy? Mothercare will refund or exchange any items (except personal items, toiletries, opened videos and software, unless faulty) that you are not completely satisfied with, as long as they are returned in an unused condition within 14 days. I think this is a very reasonable returns policy.MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: As I said before, I am only 19 and so therefore am on a tight budget. The way I got around this was reading magazines about all the baby equipment, this way I knew when it was best to spend that bit extra for added safety, and price comparing. Through my research I found that the following were bargain baby basics items and are recommended by a number of magazines:
Jungle Motif Bodysuit (7 pack) - Seven white bodysuits with bold jungle animal motifs. 100% cotton - and according to all the advice I've had it's better to get 0-3 months than new baby because the latter lasts no time - £10.00
Sleepsuit (value 3 pack) - cosy all-in-ones in white. 100% cotton. Size 0-3 months (You'll need two packs of these) £8.00 each
Foam bath support - Offers reassuring support for your baby. Fits all Mothercare baby and standard baths. - £6.00
Ascot Cot - A superb value solid rubberwood cot with 2-position mattress base height and a drop-side gravity catch system. Suitable from birth - £59.99
Foam mattress - £24.99
So far I have ordered all the above except the cot and mattress. I purchased this on a 10% off day over the phone and paid by debit card. The lady who I spoke to was very friendly and it was very simple to place an order. I was very pleased with the total amount it cost which was £23.70. I was very impressed also with the speed of delivery as I ordered on Saturday afternoon and I received the goods on Tuesday morning. In my opinion, Mothercare is a godsend and it is such a pleasure to be able to browse through the catalogue in the comfort of your own home. They stock lovely goods and have excellent customer service. I definitely will be purchasing from them again in the future!
Advantages: all in one catalogue Disadvantages: cant feel the material but then you cant with any catalogue
...baby I have found the Mothercare Catalogue a blessing.
You can pick this catalogue up in their stores or order it on line at www.mothercare.com or by just telephoning them on 8453 30 40 30.
The latest catalogue covers autumn/winter.
It has 322 pages and is really useful for anything from pregnancy to 4 or 5 years old in the catalogue - older in the stores.
When I knew I was pregnant I must admit that I thought that Mothercare would be expensive ... ...it back to the mothercare shop
I found this catalogue very useful as before I could buy anything I was in hospital and told I would not be allowed home until my daughter was born. So looking through the catalogue and ordering items really really helped me. ...

Advantages: Your able to shop online or in store Disadvantages: There mothercard account is useless
...of the store card that mothercare has to offer.
I first started shopping in Mothercare as you do when you find out your pregnant, its lovely looking at all the tiny little clothes thinking that someday soon you will be holding your little bundle of joy, all dressed in the lovely clothes this store has to offer, and sleeping in the gorgeous cots and bedding sets that you have carefully chosen. I had never had a problem with the Mothercare account ... ...but they changed it from Mothercare card to Mothercard. Why I hear you say, well the reason for this change I'm not too sure, but the amount of hassle it has caused is unbelievable.
I found out since that a few of my friends have the new Mothercard, and are having the same trouble and hassle that I'm now experiencing. When you first sign up for the account card you think this should be very simple, as you set up the direct debit payment at the same ...

Advantages: Speedy delivery and good communication of delivery dates. Disadvantages: Could do with a few more products in the clothing section.
After visiting one of the Mothercare stores, i joined there shopping club. A couple of days later i recieved my card and a £10 voucher for becoming a member. Good idea i thought. So i went on there website to have a look at some bits and pieces. mothercare.com is very useful and easy to search out anything you need from dummies to pushchairs. A little description comes with each item and you can even compare 3 different items.
Anyway i decided to ... ...also let you use the mothercare account card. Once everthing is confirmed you get an e-mail to say they are dealing with your transaction. Quick review of Mothercare
This card is an absolute joke and you should stay clear of it at all costs. I could only open the account in store as the online service wasn't working which meant I had to endure hearing the staff read out my passwords and address details over the phone whilst they opened the account for me. The points system is an absolute joke and the vouchers they send look as if they have been produced by a school class. The customer service team are also hopeless. ...

Advantages: Mothercare World Stores can stock much more than local stores..... Disadvantages: but that doesn't mean they do.
I went to Mothercare World, Warrington recently for a 10% off promotion as I thought I would be able to get all the items I wanted for my son without any problems, well I thought wrong.
Almost everything I wanted was out of stock. I first of all asked for the price of the Vtech Light Up Carousel and if it was in stock, I got a curt no and the assistant wouldn't even tell me the price.
I also wanted to purchase the Graco Convertible Toy Centre for £79.99 and the Jumper Door Bouncer for £29.99 by Mothercare themselves.
The Graco Convertible Toy Centre had sold out the day before and the sales assistants had not even heard of or seen the door bouncer before. This particular product is in the Mothercare Direct catalogue but is not exclusive to this service.
There were many more people asking for the Graco Convertible Toy ...
Advantages: Very friendly helpful staff Disadvantages: Nothing there, bad organisation
I'm writing this at boiling point. I am so so fed up with my local Mothercare store. For the last four weeks I have been "dropping by" on the off-chance that they will have cushion and harness for my Mothercare Cube Highchair. Every time the staff have been politely disappointed, but unable to fulfill my desires. They have even phoned other city stores, to no avail, and can only suggest I order on line or drop back next week.
Every online order costs you £3, so when you are seeking items of value around £5 or £10 thats a fairly hefty wack. There certainly are items marked order only in the catalogue, but surely they should at least stock minor popular items?
Today, because my baby has threatened to scream all day and all night if he is not given solid food, I settled for a cushion I didn't like, and an adequate harness to make ...
I wondered if people realised that if you buy a pram from Mothercare that if anything goes wrong with it they won't refund your money or give you a new pram in exchange. Instead, they'll send away the pram for repair, this can take 3 weeks when you'll be given an old 2nd hand pram to use. This means that even after paying hundreds of pounds so that you can take your new baby out in your nice new pram, you have to go out with an old one. And at the speed that babies grow, after 3 weeks the pram will almost past being big enough so you get no good out of it at all. Also, my daughter found that the Mothercare she went to in Aberdeen, the staff were very offhand, uncaring and sometimes downright rude. I wrote to their main office and they didn't seem to care. When I was buying prams Mothercare was the shop I'd always go to for good ...
