BEAT the showroom sweet talk at the Supermarket

Advantages: friendly, non pushy staff-no pressure for sale, cheaper than showroom prices, cars available to view parked outside in car parking slots
Disadvantages: Not as cheap as getting it yourself from the Continent, not many second hand cars, location of site, not all models available

Motor Nation is a car hypermarket launched in 1996 which stocks a large quantity of almost new cars which the company has imported from outside the UK, hence lowering the price to the UK consumer. I found out that the company imports most of its cars from Southern Ireland..now theres a surprise!

I had seen a lot of adverts for this company on TV last year, but this weekend ...
...the company’s two sites. Motor nation’s first site was established in Birmingham and later they opened a secondary site in Cheshire. I chose the Birmingham site. The company claims to have over 500 cars in stock.. wow!

The website is simple and the search is very basic, you can choose from an available list of only 20 manufacturers, such as Ford, Vauxhall, VW, Nissan (but no Honda..strange!) and Alfa Romeo (woah! For those ... more

Why I bought my car from Motor Nation

Advantages: Cars available at reduced prices
Disadvantages: Located just outside Birmingham

...I found the Motor Nation site and a pre-registered Daewoo with 11 miles on the clock for £5499. I telephoned to check that it was stil available and placed a £250 deposit there and then. I checked the Daewoo site to compare prices of a brand new car and the one I was buying, the brand new one was £8295. I caught a train to Birmingham and was met at the station by the friendly salesman and on receipt of my bankers draft he handed me the keys to my ...

national breakdown

Advantages: Quick and friendly service
Disadvantages: My cover was not good enough (but free)

Having had a minor breakdown, a radiator hose went, and not having a clue about car repairs I called the National Breakdown. I was covered through my insurance company (Dial Direct)for free so I gave them a ring. The first number I called was my insurance company, but they put me on to the right number. Three minutes later, having answered half a dozen questions, I was told I would be seen within the hour. Forty minutes later a breakdown wagon arrived from a local garage, the mechanic found the hose that was at fault and removed it (no mean feat). Unfortunatly for me I was only coverded for road side assistance so he could not go and get a part for me. But he gave me his mobile number and sasid he would return to fit the part when I got one. This is what I call service, quick, no hassle and helpfull ...

Tenner Refund

Advantages: A £10 cheque
Disadvantages: The hassle

National Breakdown promise that if they do not turn up within the hour then they will pay you a cheque for £10. After every breakdown they are supposed to send you a form with the details of your breakdown on it. You then send this back to confirm what a wonderful job they are doing or not if that is the case. I have found that on the two occasions I have had problems and they have taken longer than the hour to arrive that by coincidence the form with all the details also failed to arrive. After a phone call they posted "another" form in the mail to me, the first apparently went missing on both occasions. Eventually they did pay the money to me. So if you have trouble remember to get the form and check the timings. It may just be in your interest to do so. ...

Meet your loyal friend.....The MG ZR!

Advantages: An all around great looking car!! Ideal for long or in town journeys.
Disadvantages: Your only worry is for its wellfare!

Dating back since the early 1900's the british motor nation has been blessed with a name; a name of craftmanship, design , long life and stability of pride in respect to the man power that produced the remarkable MG. Then as we see some sad times in history relating to the liquidation of MG Rover. Rover itself a well respected under -rated one time back bone of the british motor industry.... Many models have been left behind not forgetting the MG ZR!! From my own experiences as I couldn't help spot these cars, attractive and some destinct in colour I decided to purchase an MGZR 120+ The car becomes your friend! They are quick with a nice comfortable safe amount of torque for those quick and swift overtaking occasions. Benefitting from the 17' alloy straights the car wants to stick to the road even on the bends, no problem ...
