Super Squeaking Sidi Advantages: Offers high protection, comfortable on the bike, ergonomically designed, look great Disadvantages: Limited colours, they squeak, not great for walking in off the bike, expensive The Sidi Vertebra is a race style motorcycle boot with cooling perforations, adjustable calves and removable toe sliders. The Vertebra got its name from the plastic ‘spine’ running down the back of the boot that was developed to allow more movement whilst wearing the boots off the bike but remaining rigid for use on the bike. It is a fine balancing act and whilst you will never get the perfect all-round boot, Sidi have come very close with the Vertebra. ... ...weak point for leaking, but Sidi have managed to ensure these boots don’t let the water in. My only criticism with the Vertebra is they are not that warm in the colder temperatures, but I guess this is to be expected given these aren’t winter boots. This problem is easily overcome by wearing thermal liners, and given the Vertebra’s generous cut there is no problem is getting these comfortably in the boot. These boots are made for walking ! - nope Advantages: affordable waterproof boot, nothing fancy but works Disadvantages: no real protection After passing my CBT I bought a lot of my gear online instead of going to a shop and getting them fitted correctly. These boots I bought online are slightly too big but that is not the manufacturers fault. If I had bought the right size the boots would fit comfortably and have enough durability for everyday use without compromising too much. ~ The Boot ~ The boot is genuine leather upper and 100% waterproof (some places say they are not but believe ... ...that it covers your ankle and part way up your shin. Lovely Snugly Advantages: affordable quality jacket Disadvantages: none right now ...was fitted wrong. The Duchinni Raider motorcycle jacket in my opinion is much better than the Akito in terms of quality material, protection and stitching. Hein Gericke - Motorcycle "Spidey suit" jeans Advantages: Price, looks, off the peg Disadvantages: zips, price ...sized zip. I checked with Hein Gericke that this wouldnt affect the warranty and got the thumbs up. so as the suit is a great price, an extra £20 wasn't a problem to get a zip fitted which lasts to this day. (3 years and counting) The armour around the knees is attached to the lining by round plastic clips and these have dropped off one by one over the time I have had the suit. It isn't really that much of a problem, but now and again you have to ... ...the armour knee caps fold up and you have to start again. Although when on, the armour stays in place as there isn't anywhere for it to move to, your leg is now taking up any available space. I have had one spill while wearing these leathers and I feel I would have been alot worse off had Inot worn them.(Always wear biking gear when on a bike).
