An Expensive But Ultimately Useless Product
Review of PJB Garage Defender Master With Lock by drussellwilks

Advantages: Deters an Opportuist
Disadvantages: Sold as unbreakable, but easily compromised

I am very disappointed with the performance of this product. I fitted it believing it to be the "ultimate" in home garage security, but how wrong I was. Last week the whole lock and shackle was levered away from the door and thieves made away with 4 very expensive bicycles, a motorbike and a selection of high quality tools. I was disgusted by how poorly the lock was designed; being just folded metal as opposed to a strengthened weld made it easy ...
...at the top actually makes it easier for a thief as they have something to lever against. I spoke to Master Lock about this, and it's safe to say they could not care less, here is an exert of an email from the head of customer services at Master Lock UK "In this instance I am afraid I am in no position to offer you any compensation. This is because I believe the lock mechanism worked correctly until it was violated by the burglar." So what you ... Read review

Titan, high security but not huge
Review of Oxford Titan Disc Lock by lostsworld

Advantages: cheap, secure and light
Disadvantages: none for the price

...light to carry around. Oxford provide this little disc lock with a carry pouch. A reminder cable can be bought separate which also serves as a warning to people that you have a disc lock. The opportunist thief can steal a motorcycle within seconds, for a small cost to yourself you can protect your bike and hopefully stop the opportunist. ~ The disc lock ~ Oxford is a very good make when it comes to locks and chains and some of their products are ...
...locking pin and high security Oxford locking mechanism with one push-to-lock feature. This particular lock comes in two colours, yellow and chrome. The lock is designed to fit most bikes font disc but may fit rear disc on some models, depending on how thick the rear disc is. ~ Quality ~ Oxford boast that their products are tried, tested and guaranteed to provide quality and durability. This I would say is true after using the titan, it is small ... Read review

Secret Security
Review of Datatag Security system by stevecook

Advantages: Impossible to remove
Disadvantages: Only a deterant

...saw that the Diversion had Datatag security on it and decided that it was too risky to take it. Datatag was installed on my bike before I bought it. It cost me a paltry £15 to change the registration details. This means that if my bike is stolen (God Forbid), it will be almost impossible for the thieves to remove all the datatag information secreted around the individual parts of the bike. Datatag was initially a Yamaha sub company, but has recently ...
...it may be trashed. What datatag also does is reduce the amount of insurance you may have to fork out in the first place. It is a recognised deterant and as such generates a discount with most insurers. Datatag have a website at www.datatag.co.uk where you can get details of the costs of various kits, registered installation centres and a couple of movies giving information about datatag. In conclusion, from personal experience, Datatag has been ... Read review
