Advantages: Fast, furious, handles great, accelerates great, stops brilliantly, looks wicked. Cheap insurance
Disadvantages: Ugly end can. That's it.

I ordered an R6 after demo'ing one in January 2001. My FZR 600 had a persistant over-heating problem and I was having trouble keeping up with mates on bigger bikes so I took an R6 out for a blast. Within 5 minutes my grin was so wide I thought the top of ...

A girlies eye view

Advantages: Its a great pose, a great attention getter, and wonderful ride
Disadvantages: I can think of none as a rider

Damn awesome 2000 Yamaha YZF-R6

Advantages: Its light, it goes, it stops, it looks great and it scores an A+ in all these categories!!
Disadvantages: Its total race position, so if you want to do a lot of miles, you're gonna get wrist ache, and they dont like to go slow either!!

My first encounter with the Yamaha was back in 2001, when i took one out for a test ride from our local shop. It was V registered, red and awesomely fast. Unfortunately it was also £6000, so i was totally outpriced and went off home with my tail between m ...
