Not to be underestimated

Advantages: Won't draw too much attention to you
Disadvantages: Could do with a little more protection - ie larger screen as standard

BMW bikes aren’t to everyone’s tastes – for many years they were seen as ‘old men’s’ machines, and their styling tended to be mild rather than wild. The R1200R is the entry level ‘boxer’ model – the one with the most traditional styling, it doesn’t prete ...

Strangely normal bike for BMW - well almost

Advantages: Well behaved, if slightly underwhelmeing but that could just be me!
Disadvantages: Possibly a tad expensive and not a REAL beemer in some ways

...At first glance, you could easily mistake the BMW F800ST for a 'bog standard' Japanese sports tourer, but closer inspection soon revels this to be as quirky a machine as any from the BMW fleet. One of the best (and possibly worst) things about BMW bike ...

An incredibly capable bike

Advantages: Handles, goes and stops superbly, good quality, and BMW aftersales is great
Disadvantages: Gearbox is unrefined, though not a major issue. Too many gadgets to go wrong

The R1200GS is one of those love/hate bikes, a giant trailie with an odd engine and whacky suspension, to match it's strange appearance. Not to mention the odd but useful indicator switches (one on each hand, and a cancel switch on the right) and the main ...

Beeming Around Town on my R45.

Advantages: Comfortable, Nice Beemers
Disadvantages: Pricey

...The ‘Beemer Boxer Twin’, as all BMW twins are often called, means different things to different people. To myself, and I think most BMW owners, The Beemer bit explains itself (BMW = Beemer) Boxer (The engine is a box!) and Twin (2 Cylinders). ...
