Get the right car for the right price

Advantages: Helps you save money, and very easy to work
Disadvantages: Can't really find any

Hi Find ing the right used car for the right price can somtimes be a bit of a problem, This is were parkers comes in, i work in the car auction industry and for private buyers the whole process can be a little bit scary, parkers offer you the chance to check out what price you should be paying for used cars it rates the prices in order with the condition of the vehicles So always check the fluid levels on a used car , such as the water and the ...
...means the head gasket has gone and it will cost nbetween £200 and £500 pounds, depending on the make of car you choose as well as checking the car for damage such as dents and rust So check the condition and then match it with the guide in parkers stick to your limit and don't go over it, i have seen people getting carried away and spending £400 and £500 more than they had planned for. Also take into account auctions charge a fee for selling the ...

Value for money

Quality of journalism

Quality of features

Quantity of advertising

Pay £100 to get pestered by telesales canvassers !

Advantages: Well established, popular magazine for those buying & selling cars
Disadvantages: Expensive to advertise in, used as LEAD FODDER by every canvasser in town

...Ad I placed in the Auto Trader This review is really about my own extreme dissapointment with what little value The Auto Trader seemed to offer me when selling my car Firstly it needs to be said that I have a couple of dodgy second hand car dealer types as acquaintances so I canvassed their opinions as to the best way to sell my car privately WITHOUT FAIL, everyone I asked said, "stick it in the Auto Trader" so I had the impression that it should ...
...So, I log onto the Auto trader website and am quite pleased that I can upload my own photos and write my own ad, pay for the ad, edit it etc etc etc with relative simplicity Your print advert ( The one that appears in the actual magazine ) is limited in the amount of words you can use to describe your vehicle but for your Online version of the ad you can write hundreds upon hundreds of words and include many large digital pictures I opted for the ...

Modified to the Max

Advantages: Best of all the car magazines, Subscription savings are huge
Disadvantages: Never any decent free gifts

I was looking to buy my first car, and being an 18 year old male i wanted a good looking one.Restrained by a £1000 budget and a realisation that the insurance wud cripple me no matter what, i sought after a way to make a standard (Corsa,Punto,Micra,Fiesta etc) look more than average. The price is very reasonable, although there are a lot of adverts not relating to cars (Lotsa premium rate dirty hotlines) Fantastic car to girl ration makes this ...
...the most novice car enthusiast. One criticism i wud have is the it is sometimes aimed at the more well off boy racers, with some cars ideas costing £60,000 or more. It tends to be the same cars featured again and again (Honda civic is a popular front pager) but the products on offer are second to none. Recently lost its section for used car sales, similar to Steven Gerrard losing his right foot. Still a very good read though, Miles ahead of rival ...

Top Gear Magazine - Better Than The Shows?

Advantages: Informative magazine focused on the cars, just as much fun as the TV shows
Disadvantages: Can be a little technical at times

The Top Gear TV programme has begin to achieve nationwide recognition in it's last few series, and with good reason; you'll struggle to find anything more entertaining on the box. However, with this popularity has come a burden of sorts - the new audience. Previously it was the reserve of automotive buffs, but now, people from all walks of life, whatever their opinion on cars, are tuning in, because it is such good entertainment. In short, while ...
...void? The answer comes in Top Gear magazine. The articles are more technical, and because they are targeted towards a more niche audience, place a much higher focus on the vehicles themselves. However, the wonderful sense of humour has not been lost, and the zany, entertaining nature still remains. The challenges for which the TV series is now famous for still exist (for example, the January 09 issue contained a drive across the spine of the USA ...
