I had this phone once, but my partner put the washing on without checking the pockets :) 20 minutes after i realised my phone wasn't where i left it....on a 40 degree cycle and a 2 minuteauto lock of the washing machine later, i pulled out my soggy wet pants to see that the phone was dead. I dismantled the phone, broke it down to the shell, keypad, SIM, battery, and phone itself, rolled it all in a dish cloth and placed on a very hot radiator for a couple hours.
The result is, 3 years later and the phone still works. The reason why i am astounded is because i have dropped the phone so many times and it's almost designed to dissepate the collision by coming apart, which you clip it all back together again and it looks like nothings happened to it. This phone has been dropped from GREAT heights, and washed for 20 minutes in a washing machine, and it still is perfect. I know people who've spat on a nokia and it's refused to work - ok an exageration, replace spit for a half mug of coffee. :)
Needless to say i have honestly never had to replace a Motorola because of fault. I've upgraded many Motorolas but never replaced one due to faulty phone. Unlike Nokia. I liked Nokia, but took the plunge into other manufacturers when my Nokia decided not to work because i dropped it from a height of 3 foot onto a cusion (turns out they use internal ceramic arials and that's why the phone works, but lose signal)...and i'm glad i went to Motorola. The C350 is a great phone if your into extreme sports and know it'll take a few knocks or get wet... but don't expect a great ring tone volume. For a louder phne may i reccomend the Motorola E365, or the V545,V547,V550 (same phone, different providers)
*** As requested - i've updated with more infomation about the phone. The screen has 4,096 colours, a screen resolution of 96X95 pixels and contains 3 lines of text. It does come with polyphonic ringtones, more than enough to choose from, but sadly it has only 16-tones polyphony, which can make it hard to hear in crowded or busy places. The reception (like with all motorola phones) is pretty good, and when turning the phone on, finds a signal pretty fast.
WAP and GPRS are invaluable at work for retreiving and sending emails, and uses a standard wap browser version 2.
The calander view is on a weekly basis, and has an autodelete function for older records. Battery life is phenomenal, and if charged corectly when taken out the box can last for days under normal use. Games are also included, but to the best of my knowledge, i couldn't download any more - believe me...i did try :) However, MOTOGP was a very addictive game!
The overall looks on this phone are pretty stylish, but if you want a loud sounding phone that will get your attention - (if you work in a busy enviroment), i'd opt for something like the Motorola C365, which includes a camera (which this phone sadly does not) - and has a much louder sounding ring tone. I think i've covered all aspects of this phone...and the main reason why i wanted to write this review was because of it's pure strength and willingness to not get smashed in or die. Hardcore bricklayers, take note :) I hope you find this review helpful... .....do let me know if i'm missing something :D
