The motorolla C520 is a basic compared to the phones on the market today but for basic use, say as an emergency phone it does the job.
It does'nt have all the gimmicks of other phones and has a basic selection of ring tones. Another factor to consider is that it is a single band (1800 Mhz) and restricts its use to one to one or orange in the UK.
I like this phone as it fits my hand nicely and feels comfortable when using it for long calls. I have used an Ericsson a1018s and have to say that I like the comfort of the 520 compared to the ericsson.
It has been dropped a few times onto concrete and has survived the fall withoutany noticable damage to the phone.
The ability to use AA batteries instead of the rechargable battery means that in an emergency situation you do not have to worry about losing the use of the phone through a discharged battery. A separate battery cover is needed to use AA batteries but this isn't such a hassle if the phone is left on the car so that emergencies can be covered on the road.
I'd recommend this phone for the first time user or someone who needs a phone for the var to cover emergencies.
