"Somewhere in between a blackberry and an iPhone - Motorla DEXT"

I've owned the DEXT for a good month and a half now and overall I'm very pleased, not over the moon but happy to pay my bill :O! This phones specs speak for itself and its clear to see why this phone has become a launch pad for motorola...

Stand Out Features:
  • Latest Android technology out now, soon getting android 2.1 !! one nifty feature is voice commands, it picks my voice up quite well, i was surprised
  • 3.1 inches of great quality screen(320 x 480), it is also clumsy proof (by that i mean i havn't scratched it yet even after I've accidentally dropped it about 5-10 times)
  • Great texting/messaging it has an msn feel to the texts, again personal and therefore more interactive
  • perfect for people addicted to facebook, also you don't need to input all those numbers if people list there mobile numbers on facebook it's right there for you ring them up, very handy when you want a quick catch up with a friend
  • Qwerty keyboard is fantastic if your nimble fingered like me, i have owned a blackberry in the past and if one of your buttons doesn't work its dead pretty much, much with this you can seamlessly go from touchscreen to keyboard just by sliding it out

Bonuses: MOTOBLUR !!! - the linking of your accounts
  • Biggest bonus is that i can see any new messages and facebook status changes clearly and with contact pictures, which makes a phone just that little bit more personalized.
  • As i have many accounts with amazon, eBay etc... the email alerts are fantastic, telling you when you've been paid through paypal, and all the other emails that are not 'junk'.
  • There's a good range of android games & tools - it is far from an iphone in that respect but is catching incredibly fast.
  • 5 Homepages on your phone to categorize your widgets/ updates etc...
  • Google Maps, it homes in on your location to within a few metre's sometimes, which is great if your lost and need to find a way to the tube station.

What i would have liked to have known before owning the DEXT:
  • The Battery life seems short, i use my phone mainly for facebook, messaging and games on the tube, and the battery needs charging once a day for sure when your facebook alerts are on and especially if your using Google maps.
  • Wifi & 3G sometimes let you down, and the signal isn't always crisp
  • it is quite thick, but the keyboard is great, so it's worth the thickness

Anyone can look at a page of specs and say that phone is for me, but let me tell you, if you are a businessmen of women a blackberry is more professional and sleek (cheap but so common and not the most user friendly), if your anything really and wish to possess a highly desirable sexy phone with crappy video (that costs an arm and a leg) go for an iPhone. If you wish to have a good looking multi-purpose, dash of colour phone grab a DEXT! :) i haven't regretted my decision once since owning it
