Unfortunately following an accident with my Nokia 3330, my boyfriend who was sick of it ringing decided to chuck my phone from near the bed...but it hit the radiator nearby and well, the screen cracked and the LCD screen began to bleed, making it impossible to read.
Why switch from nokia?
Well although on this occassion, it was my boyfriends' fault as to the damage to my Nokia 3330, I have found that Nokia phones' screens are always breaking. So I thought let me try another brand of mobile phone manufacturers.
What tarrif/ contract are you on?
Im still with T-Mobile and I bought this phone over the phone from t-mobile on their customer services number but you can visit other stores such as the Tmobile store or Carphone Warehouse, or their websites...

I chose to order over the phone for two reasons rather than going into a store...
1. I like talking to someone whilst trying to work out what I want...both phone and tarrif wise (psst you can haggle price of the phone and the tarrif you want to pay)
Wait for it...here's the law bit!
2. Though the Long Distance Selling Regulations (EC Directive) by buying over the phone, as a consumer you have the right to return the goods, if you believe them to be unsatisfactory or not matching to their description. Tmobile give you 7days use before you have to return the phone.
T-Mobile do charge £5 (correct at time of printing) to deliver your phone and they will deliver it to any address within the UK that you specify.

The phone didnt really come with any extras...just a phone charger and that was it.
But I have since been made aware that you can get a data connecting cable enabling you to transfer pictures and music (MP3s) from the phone to a computer (or visa versa) but you do need the disk to install the software!
The phone can play a few MP3s.
Whats the phone like?
The phone's interface is very different from a Nokia and if you have always been a Nokia user you may struggle slightly especially when composing text messages! To get capitals or symbols you have to press different keys completely.
The phone is available in blue and black. The outside is a matt finished cover which is almost rubbery in texture. This makes it easy to hold. It is a flip phone. On the outside it has a small window where you can see the time, or the name of the person who is calling you. There are quick key functions for voice dialling and to change the noise level of the phones operation, such as silence or loud etc.
Once you have opened the flip phone, there is a quick access menu which you can alter and operate by using the circular navigation keys. As this function is personable, its hard to remember the default positions but an example includes;
up- calender down- contacts right- text message (to contstruct and send) left- call register
The main menu is presented by prssing menu, through pictures. The style of this also can be changed including the available styles of the phone etc can be found here.
You can also have conversations whilst the phone is closed or listen to music using the MP3 function, whilst using the speaker phone function. The sound quality is excellent...and pictures are great also...although technology has since moved this along too. It has also got a filming function, moto mixer and you can set MP3s to being your ring tone.
You can also have a welcome note to the phone, enable security pins ecetera for the phone as a whole or for individual functions. It has an alarm clock and you can use a calculater and it does come with games- Java ones, beach buggy (a driving game), water skiing game and golf.
Whats the manual like?
The manual is very straight forward...with good diagrams and instructions on how to accomplish the tasks that you have set out to acheive.
How easy is the phone to use?
This phone apart from the text message issues...is extremely easy to use.

I am glad so far, having had the phone for a week, with my decision to leave Nokia for this phone, although I am wary as I have heard rumours about other Motorola phones.

...phone to be a great motorola flip phone not only because of my upgrade from the V300 but the fact that the whole phone runs on the same prinicple.
I am one of these people that hates reading through user manuals to find out how to turn things on. So I was chuffed to pieces when this phone came out with the same layout as the v300 but with better specs.
I will go through some of the phone specifications and add my little notes next to them
The ... ...25 mm, Fits into my jeans pocket fine and you can certainly feel it vibrating... The weight allow a little heavy is 110 g - Not to bad I suppose as I have this hanging around my neck.
The Talk Time on this is anywhere up to 255 mins - Not sure on this personally as I have never timed it, but I can use it for 48 hours talking on it constantly without having to charge it up
The Standby Time on this phone is anywhere up to 196 hours - I have had mine ...

I went shopping with my parents to choose a phone for my Christmas present last year. I didn't really know what I wanted although I was considering a flip phone. After looking at all the phones in the shop (Phones 4 U) I decided I liked this one best (I knew as soon as I seen it that it was the one for me but my parents insisted I looked at them all!) I'm not sure of the exact price we paid (although I think it was about £180) but I know that I got ... ...bought the phone in October or November last year and I was the counting the days to Christmas so I could get my hands on it!
I was much too excited on Christmas day to be bothering to read the manual, so I was thrilled to find out how easy it was to use. Within 10 minutes of having it out of the box I had saved all my phone numbers into the phone book and 5 minutes after that I had texted all my family and friends with my new number.

Advantages: new technology Disadvantages: looks a bit bulky
Like I said, it's a bit bulky, when you compare it with other flip phones, but on the plus side is has a soft cover, almost like a thin layer of silk over a piece of rubber. The keys are in some ways easier, and some ways harder to use than the similar V300, which this phone is an updated version of, the keys are bigger but aren't different shapes so it's harder to navigate the keys without looking, although that isn't high on most people's priorities.
... ...of a male I refused to read the instructions that came with it, and maybe not so typically, I worked everything out by myself within a week.
The first thing I used was the video, at first I was annoyed at the shortness of the films you could make but soon realised this was just a default setting so that they were small enough to send in messages, with which I was impressed, I never expected that option to be available with videos, just pictures.

The E550 is a flip phone measuring 89 x 49 x 24.8 mm when closed, and weighs 85grammes. It has a black and silver exterior that cannot be changed.
The looks are very similar to its predecessor the Motorola v300, but it has a lot more advanced features. The many features on the E550 include:
An external caller ID screen with blue backlight
Internal 65,000 colour screen
Built-in digital 640 x 480 pixels camera ... ...is my network, as I've been using the same one for a while and I had no problems with my previous phone.
I've had the phone for six months now, and I have got more used to it. I do like the phone, and I would consider Motorola again. ...

...better than that from the Motorola C series and Nokia 6610i. This is my first polyphonic phone, but the sound seems no better (or worse) than any other. However, a definite plus is that the sound from the ear-piece and speakerphone is very clear, helped no doubt, by the ever-strong reception and signal strength.
The menus are very intuitive and easy to navigate through, allowing you to access most functions within a few keystrokes -frankly, I have ... ...the hinge cracking on previous Motorola flips - I know of three V66 phones where the hinge failed completely after about 12 months.
The only vaguely negative thing I have to say about this phone is the Battery life is not as good as some others (e.g my previous Sony-Ericcson). This is obviously subjective and dependant upon use, but it generally lasts 2-3 days (4 days if its standby only) before the battery is exhausted. That is not ideal considering ...

I bought this phone a while back as it was on offer at woolworths and i liked the design and the way it turned so u could hold it like a camera but i took it back a few days later because of the quality the camera...which was actually the phones main selling point!! The phone i had before was a motorolaE550 and the pictures looked 10x better ..but looking at the description for the SF65 it says '1.3 megapixel digital camera.... With a 4x digital zoom and a LED flashlight' which i'm guessing is supposed to be good. So i'm not too sure what happened there. Its telling me i have to write more but the only other thing i can remember that wasn't great about it was it only had one game, tand i got bored of it after a couple minutes. ...

For Christmas (2006) I got the Pink Motorola Pebl. I've wanted a pink phone for a while (as its my favourite colour!) but I still wanted it to be a phone that I liked. I was looking around and I saw this one. I told my parents that was the phone I would like for Christmas. I didn't know if I was getting the phone or not so it was a pleasant surprise in Christmas morning when I opened the present and found it was the pink Motorola Pebl.
My previous phone was a Motorola (E550) and I really liked it but it was starting to get old and wasn't working properly. I had had two years use out of it and knew that Motorola were reliable.

fault..... It was only when Hubby point out that his was doing the same thing....
Camera.... Brilliant absolutly brilliant, some of the pictures we have taken with it look better than our 4MP Nikon camera pictures.... Video not good but ok, alot better than my last phone which was MotorolaE550.
Cases for this phone are not brilliant either, we tried a lot of them, but in the end, ended up with a rubber case only going around the back and sides, holds it quiet well, they use to sell them on eBay (under Silicone Skin Case 6280) Plus a screen guard to protect the screen.
The Voice Recognition isn't very good, because your can't train it yourself. it uses its own software, and its not good with unusal words like my name, or easier ones too for that matter... hates wife (but hubby like that idea hehe).
