PHONE BUILD
The phone is incredibly thin and this is a good thing - it fits into pockets so snugly: a down point is when sitting down, it can really dig into your leg and is very hard to get comfortable with. The side buttons are quite cool and accessible - the left one being the internet access and the right being the camera which is quite helpful. The screen can get smudged really easily though, and this can be large problem and can get very annoying quick having to clean it, or live with a messy screen! The keypad buttons can be tricky as they are very close and this can be a problem, especially when used to more distinctive layouts. Another negative point is the fact that the casing can sometimes get under your nails and this can be a fingers down blackboard sort of experience! Also, if the phone is dropped, it can be quite flimsy - the back casing, battery and sim card have all fallen out on me before. The method of locking the phone is quite handy though - just by pressing menu and star - can be helpful if people are trying to unlock your phone: most people don't have a clue how to do it!
RECEPTION/BATTERY
The reception on this phone is great - especially with Vodafone. I've basically never been out of signal, and if I have, it is quick to recover. As for battery life, I'm not so grateful. The life is quite short to be honest, expecially when in use, and instead of just being short, it is unreliable. For example, one moment the battery life is 3 bars, then it's dead! Then, when charging, it says it's fully charged... and it's not! Also, when charging, it's impossible to access any of the phone's features - the only way is by turning on the phone, then quickly plugging it in so it doesn't die out: really impractical. Also, the beeping the phone makes when out of battery is not neccessary - a very loud beep which is still horrendous on low volume: terrible for conferences or meetings when your phone is down low yet not on silent!
MESSAGING/CONVERSATION
This comes with normal SMS/MMS ways of texting - and the texting is quite solid. There are several different methods of communicating - predictive text (which is really solid, comes with a VERY large dictionary) and normal text - along with symbols and capitalization. You can also insert pre-made comments and sayings such as 'Be there in a bit' or 'I'm late' or even 'I love you lots.' - Can be helpful to some, but they're placing is hidden away and therefore can be very forgettable. Conversations can be good, speakerphone is excellent - but normal conversations can come across very loudly, when I take the phone away from my ear, a ringing usually ensues around my head: surely not a good thing!! However, it's not a bad system in that respect.
CAMERA
The camera is good, but only for basic use. In any even slightly dark environment, the footage goes pitch black. The pictures can usually be fuzzy too - but I find it's the luck of the draw. At one point, I took a random picture of my dog and it came out beautifully - at the same quality of a top of the range digital camera! Other times, the quality has been diabolical. It took me a while to actually find the setting to turn off the shutter noise but eventually managed to mute it - annoying but worth it in the end, The video capturing is quite shoddy; the audio is all one harsh, sharp level, and the video itself is blurry and reluctant to actually be clear at all. They only last for a small amount of time, so it has no actual practical use. Also, if you don't fiddle with the settings, the maximum video time is 10 seconds - yet upping the time only leads it to a measly 30 seconds more. An ok camera, but useless for any practical reasoning.
BLUETOOTH
The bluetooth on this phone is ok... for me, just doing a handsfree search doesn't pick up any people, so to even find anyone you have to copy a picture first - but once this is done, you can pick up a lot of people fast. And there's a nice little feature that maintains the history of your bluetooth contacts.
OTHER FEATURES
The internet never really appealed to me on this, but the times I have used it, it is quite reliable and easy to use - hideous loading times however. The games are also quite good, although there is only one to start off with - and nowadays new games for mobile cost a lot more than they're worth. It's called Rebels and is basically a space shooting game. It does have a range of difficulty levels, and can be really fun! Some of the extras such as the calendar, calculator and clock/alarm can be useful - and the calculator in particular is very handy and has saved me on a variety of occasions. A final bad point is the amount of memory on the thing - it has a puny amount, and within days it was chockablock with videos and pictures which was a great shame.
CONCLUSION
So, from this review, it seems like quite a mediocre phone. But really, if you are just a casual phone user who wants something reliable and thin that's easy to use - then you've got the perfect bargain. However, if you want a bit more from your phone, then this really isn't for you. And in one respect, the L6 can be resembled to a digestive biscuit. It looks good yet when you bite into it it's bland and lacks any taste or amazement. Which is a great shame for such a promising looking, little (and very thin) phone. Basic, and not complex.
Advantages: Games, some good buttons, signal reception Disadvantages: Battery, the whole I-Mode thing, Not MP3, Hardly Customisable, Keypad, Only available on O2 PAYG
...wanted a quick, cheap replacement Motorola after my Razr suddenly went out of action. It does have a handful of good points, but you'll quickly see how the negatives outweigh the positive.
Size:
The L6i is a very sleek and slim phone. At just 12mm thick its possible to pat your pocket and not realise its there. On the other hand, it is about 10cm long. In my opinion this is too long. I like to carry my phone in my back pocket. If you lay it horizontally, ... ...comes with a number of Motorola phones. This is also the same connection that is used to charge the phone
Charging:
This phone will not charge from a computer. While it is plugged into the computer, for synchronising and transfer of pictures etc, it claims to be full battery, but as soon as you unplug it, the battery indicator changes back to whatever it was before. Phones before this one (ie supposedly less technologically up-to-date) were all ...

It also can be connected to Bluetooth headsets which are easy as pie to set up. Computers on the other hand ned a suitable Bluetooth adaptor. ...was simply this, buy a Motorola L6 for £69.97, get a free bluetooth headset for the car or walking about if you want to look like a total wally. Pretty good so far I thought, then I read further, £5 of airtime preloaded onto the phone with an additional £10 voucher inside the box. So £15 of airtime a new phone and a new funky headset.
Inside the quite large box I discovered all the items named above plus a charger which connects to the phone via ... ...manual and a quick set up booklet.
Within minutes I was up and running and in the process of learning my new phone. It has the normal features of organiser calculator and such in the applications section of the easy to use menu system. The menu system seems to be a bit more logical than some mobiles I have had, so it did not take long to navigate through the extensive features. The phone also has a 1.3 mega pixel camera which takes decent photos ...

Advantages: Great looks, easy to use for the basic caller/texter Disadvantages: Fiddly keypad, poor media all round, useless instruction manual!
Even though I actually bought this phone about a year and a half ago, I feel absolutely no embarrassment about using it in front of friends. Its slim-line DESIGN and large, bright colour SCREEN keep it young and stylish even though perhaps some of the features need updating.

Unfortunately, the once classic and stylish SILVER COLOURING is now just making it look tacky, as you can see clearly on every button where it has been worn away. I find the KEYPAD very fiddly to use even now that I'm used to it, as the buttons are completely flat with only a small ridge between them, which makes it easy to press the wrong one, especially when texting. Consequently, I actually sometimes find myself having to press the ...

Advantages: Slim and sleek, easy handling. Disadvantages: Not enough memory (only 10MB)
When I first saw the Motorola L6, I was tempted to buy it especially because everyone states that it is the best phone company on the market. Having had an old Nokia 3410, I thought it was time for a bit of a change. Some say the Motorola L6 is excellent when it comes to value for money (including me) but there are many things the American company still need to add to thier excellent product.
First, let me tell you about some of the good things ... ...of charge very quickly. The motorola charger cable also fits into most other Motorola handsets (including the Motorola V3) because of it's hugely original feature which is a small USB connection. The types of ringtones this phone can hold I think are phenomenal! It can play all sorts of ringtones from MP3 to realtones to polyphonic, anything you like basically!!But what I found amazing is that the Motorola L6 has bluetooth and it only costs about ...

Advantages: cool design, good mp3 player Disadvantages: buttons are too flat, hard to press
I've been using this phone for more than 1 year, changed to it from my old MotorolaL6. Just wanted a phone that can play mp3 and this phone really suited my needs. With a normal phone dimention, quite thin actually, this phone can fit easily into the pocket and I do not feel uncomfortable with it. My brother has a Nokia N7 but he rarely put it inside his pocket because it's very thick.
The phone has a 480 x 320 display LCD that produces really good colour display. However, it is very blur when you useing under bright sun (have to use my hands to cover the screen so that I can see).
The slide design is really cool and te buttons under the screen allows really fast access to music player, changing songs, volume. There is not different between this handphone and a mp3 player.

Now that I have a fancy pants phone I was faced with the horrible decision of how to connect the thing to my computer. With the MotorolaL6 and many other models you have the option of connecting via Bluetooth or via a data cable.
Buying a blue tooth dongle has the advantage that you can connect any Bluetooth device to your computer. The problem with Bluetooth is that it eats into your battery power on your phone. Connecting via a cable does the reverse as your phone will use the power from the USB cable to charge itself. This and the price of £10 I got from a local independent phone shop for the cable, made the decision for me. I would heartily recommend that you shop around as the local independent shops quite often have better deals.
Installing it is relatively simple with a few niggles; first thing to do is to install ...
