When I first saw the Motorola L6, I was tempted to buy it especially because everyone states that it is the best phone company on the market. Having had an old Nokia 3410, I thought it was time for a bit of a change.
Some say the Motorola L6 is excellent when it comes to value for money (including me) but there are many things the American company still need to add to thier excellent product.
First, let me tell you about some of the good things about the Motorola L6.It is bluetooth ready which means you can share videos and music with your friends or even connect it to your computer which unfortunately you need a special cable for (£9.99 from Maplin). It's slim and sleek and even fits into the smallest of pockets which is very hard to do these days! The battery life on it lasts up to an amazing 4-5
days but one major drawback is that if you frequently use your bluetooth setting, it will run out of charge very quickly. The motorola charger cable also fits into most other Motorola handsets (including the Motorola V3) because of it's hugely original feature which is a small USB connection. The types of ringtones this phone can hold I think are phenomenal! It can play all sorts of ringtones from MP3 to realtones to polyphonic, anything you like basically!!But what I found amazing is that the Motorola L6 has bluetooth and it only costs about £59.99!!!
GAMES AND APPLICATIONS
The Motorola L6 comes with a standard three games (safe, rebels and multimedia album). Safe is more of an application as it stores all of your passwords, numbers etc. which I think is a brilliant idea for the average Joe. Rebels is a real, fun-packed game in which you need to shoot ships in space in order to score points and get on the leader board. Quite original really. Multimedia Album is a program in which you can edit photos you have taken in the past and do what you like with them. The internet browser means you can browse for the latest games and pictures. I think, personally, that the Pay-as-you-go system is the best way to go as it doesn't build up a phone bill and doesn't confuse you with all that jargon about free texts.
SCREEN
The screen of this phone is one of the major setbacks. It smudges with ease which is one of the things I detest. The screen I think is big enough but is no match when it comes to other Motorola handsets. The Motorola L6 held the title for the slimmest phone in the UK (10.9mm) until it was beaten by the new Samsung SGH-P300 which had a depth of 8.9mm!!!
Here are the bad things about the Motorola L6. The size of memory on it is appauling. It only has the best part of 11MB compared to most of the Motorola range which contain from 32MB to 256MB!!! One that I mentioned earlier was the fact that if you use your bluetooth too often, it drains your battery which I think is a real setback considering all the good points of the handset.
CAMERA
The camera, I think, is a revolutionary jump in the phone industry. Whent the L6 was first released, there wasn't much in the way of 'cameras in phones' and everyone was desperate to try and get one with a camera. This handset, thankfully, doesn't go orange when you try to take a picture in the dark (like my sisters) and it has got an amazing 64,000 colours but ofcourse, not match for the L7 which has 256,000 colours. This, at the time, I thought was the best buy especially when I got £20 airtime free! It just goes to show that if you look long and hard for the best deals, you can save yourselves alot of money so remember to look for the deals!
Here are some facts about the phone:
Screen: STN 65,000 colours, 128 x 160 pixels Ringtone: MP3, Polyphonic Memory: 10MB Network: GSM Connectivity: mini-USB, Bluetooth Physical: 113 x 49 x 10.9mm!! Weight 86g
I tnink the Motorola L6 are real underdogs in the market business as it's hugely advertised brother came out a couple of months after this and literally took over the L6. Everyone was rushing out to buy the better version of it the L7 which is 10g heavier and only has 1MB extra storage space. Hardly a better buy consiering this was about £129.99 when the L6 was a mere £99.99!!! Some may think that the L7 is still better as it is now available in a flashy, luminous red colour but trust me, it isn't!
I was thinking of buying a new phone plainly because of the amount of memory on this particular model. I also believe that the Motorola are the best range on the market as most of my friends and family have a Motorola phone and I believe that they are quite realiable. They just keep coming back with new models time and time again and for excellent prices aswell. On these beliefs, I am going to purchase a new phone from Motorola maybe the V3i of even the Moto PEBL.
This is the perfect phone for first buyer as it isn't too dear and is easy to use due to it's lack of confusing buttons. As the Motorola company is American, I believe that they will continue to make revolutionary handsets for everyone from first-time buyers to frequent buyers to ones who have no idea how to work a phone!!!
I would recommend this handy piece of equipment to anyone desperate to purchase a phone but always look at the facts before buying your phone. This is the type of phone for all you oldies out there as it doesn't have all the fancy features you are always talking about and it only costs around £59.99! Thank you for taking the time to read my survey and any constructive critisism I deserve will be accepted.
