So, I previously had a Samsung mobile, it was great, had some cool features; a camera, MP3 player and all that jazz. Thing is, making and recieving calls was a nightmare, the sound quality was appaling, and, call me crazy, but that I think is the reason for actually having a mobile phone.
So with that in mind, I'm going to start off on a purely practical review of this phone.
The in-call sound quality of this phone is almost as good as a land line, the speaker phone is pretty good, and makes the phone hands free without any attachements needed - good for when you need to talk, and use your hands!
Keeping track of contacts is easy, with the included software, you can sync your contacts - and calander for that matter - between microsoft outlook and your phone.
Now for the fun part:
The included software also has a multimedia part, which allows you to transfer media files between your computer and phone, thats great in itself, but on a very basic level you can also edit pictures and more importantly audio for use on your phone.
The audio editing feature is great, it allows you to select an element of a song, such as the chourus for use as a ring tone, which is benificial if you have a song, you really want as a ring tone, but has an annoyingly quiet intro, that you just can't hear.
The camera is of good quality, and although lacking any kind of flash element, works well in most kinds of light (with the exception of complete darkness).
For me, the only issue I've had with this handset, is the buttons around the top seem a little crammed, but then I have fat fingers, so thats probablty just a personal issue, also the menu's seem a little long winded to get where you want to go, but again, i've never had a motorola phone before, and I'd guess, that like most other mobile brands, the menu stuff is pretty standard on all their phones.
I'm giving this handset a full 5 stars, as a communication tool it works very well, and added to that the extra's such as MP3 player, camera etc. make this a useful multimedia tool.
