I have owned many mobile phones, mostly Nokia, however, travelling to the USA as I do reasonably frequently, and getting sick of either not having a phone that works in the States or renting one at high rates, I decided to look for a decent Triband phone......
I tried my two networks Vodafone and Btcellnet to see what they had and for how much, but neither sounded too impressive on the choice..I began to hear about this natty little Motorola P7389 number and decided to see where I could get one, I eventually put in a bid for one on Ebay auctions and to my surprise actually won the auction, the phone arrived in due course with charger and UK attachment and instruction book...
WOW !! I had no idea of its capabilities, and the Infra Red transmission is excellent, I bought an Infrared reader for my PC and now I can update and download the Mobile phones phone book from my PC..much smarter and easier than fiddling about with those small buttons on the phone...
I programmed my WAP details into the phone and loggged onto Genie Internet very quickly, and the Fax, Data capabilities are also very good, I believe the Fax transmission is around 9600 bps...
Whilst on a recent trip to Munich I flew back via Amsterdam and in the Dutyfree shop I saw a Motorola USA/European Charger pack for my phone...what a bonus iot was much cheaper than in the shops in the UK so I grabbed one.....This phone is now complete with all accessories, its a feature full, powerful Triband phone, I don't fully understand all of its capabilities just yet but I am learning...
If you can get one the Motorola P7389 is an excellent Triband Mobile Phone and should be seriously considered if you are looking for a phone with USA/Canada capabilities plus of course other Countries who are on the 1900 Mhz band rather than the more common 900/1800 Mhz dual Frequency Bands as in the UK and Europe...

A VH op!!! Sounds like a good phone. Tri-band aswell that is good. But motorola can never beat nokia. With nokia producing more phones who can stop them. Well maybe motorola can or sony. Whatever.. fromthedarkside
