I bought the motorola V3Im earlier this year as soon as it came out for no other reason than that it was red. Turns out I picked up an amazing phone, I've recently had to claim on my insurance and have a new one which seems more "right", so I'll tell you about that one. I got this phone on contract for free with O2 on their online 200 package plus insurance. you pay £5 a month insurance and £25 when you make a claim, but its well worth it if you need to claim. I used the bluetooth to transfer my files from my Nokia to this phone, and then put everything on the memory card when my insurance claim came through and put the old card in the new phone.
APPEARANCE
This phone comes in red or black. It has a large screen on th outside on which you can see caller ID, messages recieved etc and also change the ring style using the keys on the outside of the phone or check missed calls, or use the camera. Inside it looks like every other Motorola V3. the screen is a good size and the buttons are easy to use. The phone is quite light and of course very slim and easy to pocket. Annoying when trying to find it in the bottom of your bag though! The red "bits" are very durable to scratching but the outside screen I've found can be damaged as mine developed a nice big star shaped cross on it. I claimed on the insurance and was sent a new phone the next day. In my opinion though this phone is "better". I believe when I bought it first time around as it had first come out I got some glitches.
PROGRAMMES
From the main menu, you get your picture/sound/video players and access to the camera and videa camera. Also the change of themes for your phone. There's the usual things, contacts, alarm clock, calender, messages, internet, voice recording, calculator and of course iTunes. (see down) This phone does come with Areoplane mode, but not and Windows things (excel etc were on my old phone)
ITUNES
Tthis phone comes with iTunes and all the things you need to install it between your computer and phone. The memory card can easily fit 100 music tracks on it with room to spare, but thats it as the phone is somehow not able to take anymore than 100 tracks on board. They all go onto the memory card and this is also where I keep my sounds/pictures/videos. You can't set the iTunes as your ringtones, which is strange. iTunes is seperate to the phone in that respect. IT doesn't drain the battery life as badly as you might think, although I need to charge my phone nightly, I do use it to death. I play the iTunes through my car stereo using a tape adapter and the motorola headphone adaptor which comes with the phone.
EXTRAS
In the particually funky box your phone comes in you also recive a charger, handsfree kit, iTunes software for mac or PC, link cable, adaptor for headphones, a 512 mini memory card with adaptor for more common card readers and the instruction book.
ALL IN ALL
I'm really impressed with this phone and am glad I bought it. It is good for obvious reasons, it is an upgrade of the V3i so all glitches there have been ironed out and iTunes has made it and almost perfect phone. the battery life is good (I've had it going 3 days, but thats with limited music playing, a day and a half is more accurate), the features are brilliant and its as easy to use as any other motorola once you've got the hang of them, they certainally arn't as easy as Nokia's but once you've got your head round them they become simple.
