After reading a couple of the reviews on this phone on Ciao, I felt that some people were being unnecessarily put off of this phone by being given the wrong information.
Firstly, I must correct a few of the things off other reviews....
1) Voice records can be made by pressing and holding the key on the side that you can see in the above picture, the phone immediately starts recording and then can be instantly played back, the only draw back is that you can't get it on Loud speaker (as far as I know)
2) Speaking many languages and having loads of friends abroad means I need a phone with a good predictive text, this phone definitely has this, it even brings the most often used words to the top of the list of possible matches, so you can easily find the word you want to type, I even have words in 4 different languages in my predictive text, so its REALLY handy for me.
3) I have 3 different alarms on my phone and have a different tone for each of them, they can be easily changed, either through the alarm clock function or the tones function.
OK, that's my rambling over with!!! So, having always had Nokias I found it a little tricky at first to navigate this phone, but I was soon up to speed and now I think its one of the easiest phones I have used when it comes to functionality. The sleek design means it looks hot and very eye catching. The phone feels really sturdy in the hand, although I wouldn't want to drop it.
The brushed metal finish is very classy and sets the phone off a treat.
The big screen is great for watching all your video clips and pictures and makes taking pictures and clips really easy, you can also use the small screen on the front to take pictures of yourself while being able to see the picture you are taking, just put the phone in camera mode and close the flip, then use the key on the side to take the picture, no more skew, off centre pictures!!!
The camera has loads of functions for night time and indoors and you can even change the exposure and use special modes like sepia. The 1.2mpix ensure that you get really good pictures, I was very surprised with how clear the pictures actually were, from a phone.
The battery life is very good, mine lasts about 3 days before I have to charge it, although if you listen to a lot of MP3's on your phone then it really drains the battery.
The software received with the phone makes transferring all your files to and from PC and phone really easy. MP3's are converted into smaller files, with hardly any loss of quality, to minimise memory usage. Although this is far more advanced than its predecessor the V3, which only has 5mb of internal memory and no option for memory cards. The V3i can be used with most mini cards and needs an adapter if inserting into a PC card reader.
So far after 6 months of use I can only see one draw back, email settings for this phone have to be entered manually, at least for vodafone they do, this can be very time consuming and after 4 phone calls and about 8 texts, I still do not have email on my phone, which I find very frustrating as it only took 2 seconds to set it up on my old Nokia 7650, which is still going in the background as a standby phone!!!
I would definitely recommend this Motorola!!

I read the review and the commentary on it. I have a Motorola V3i. And yes I heard that here wer some early problems with it. I just feel that Nokia had lost their way for some time, though have some great products now. I love my Motorola V3i and thats from someone who had been an ardent Nokia buyer. The review is good and I feel acurate and fair.

Nice review, but I could never bring myself to buy a Motorola! My friends have had nothing but problems with them, the V3i included, but it's good to know its not all bad! Cheers
