Married father of one 2 year old. Working in a printing design studio on Apple Mac's and have an abiding interest in new technology and gadgets (without the wallet to indulge).

I have owned this phone for over a year, having previously been a Sony Ericsson stalwart. It is connected to T-Mobile.
Previously, I had bought phones that included plenty of gadgets that I thought would come in useful. Invariably, these 'useful' additions would remain unused after the initial honeymoon period was over. I purchased the V3i having seen several people with the older V3 and being impressed with the size of the phone. Below I will list the positive and negative points.
POSITIVE
The size and weight of the phone means that I can slip it into either my shirt, jacket, or trousers, and it will remain unobtrusive until needed.
Most ring tones are loud enough to be heard through the clothing and in relatively noisy conditions, even MP3 ring tones. This was certainly not the case with my older phones.
Most phones now come with internet capabilities, and so does the V3i. It also has the ability to download Java programs and games. Recently, Google have released a couple of programs which take advantage of the internet capabilities. You can now have GoogleMaps and GoogleMail on your V3i.
NEGATIVES
The battery life is pretty poor by today's standards. For a few months now, the maximum is around 2 days. This is only having a half hour conversation.
The external screen is easily scratched, and mine has had to be replaced when it cracked. A replacement screen is quite expensive, though third party screens can be picked up on Ebay for a couple of quid.
The phone started behaving erratically on a trip to Australia. I had tripped up some stairs, and when I came to use the phone, it started to randomly activate different features (including dialling numbers of people here in the UK). After leaving it for a few days, the phone seemed to fix itself.
CONCLUSION
Even with a these negatives, the phone has been very good. Now I am coming to the end of my contract, I will be buying a Motorola as a replacement.
