The Bluetooth S9 headset retails at a around £100 and after about 3 months of use I am fairly well impressed with its performance.
Tired of loops of wire and fiddly controls when using a hands / free? Then this is for you.
Setup.
After about 2 -3 attempts I managed to get a Bluetooth connection between Phone ( Motorola V8) and headset. This connection delivered a strong signal to my ears and made my play lists ( mostly light classical music with a few of Sinatra's offerings mixed in) really come alive. Stereo effect has a very slight bias towards the left hand speaker, but I'm putting that down to my 69 years old Mk. I lug 'oles, not performing as they used to!
General Performance.
Overall very good. PROVIDING one either mounts the Phone in a car holder or places it within arm's length on a table the reception is as good as it gets. BUT, the minute one either moves the phone handset or places in a shirt pocket (or as in my case in a leather holder clipped to my belt) then things are not what one would expect from such an otherwise pleasing product. 'Drop outs' of signal and of course, constant interruption of listening pleasure seems to be the price one pays for the otherwise high standards. In a product designed to afford the listener a "seam free" connection whilst on the move, Motorola needs to have serious second thoughts.
"Hands Free"
When set up to automatically receive incoming calls it comes into its own as a fine instrument, given the odd vagaries of Motorola's V8 Voice call software,...
" Say a command or name", then when one does this, the software replies "Did you say ******'s MOBEEL?" Answering "Yes" gets one connected. Answering "No" switches the strongly American accented voice off. . All heard through the left hand earpiece only. After the call ends the music is switched back on again .
A well designed but flawed instrument, it'll do until "they" bring out some hopefully free downloads / adjustments to "tweak" the 'drop out' problem
