Advantages Versatile, lightweight, reliable and durable

Disadvantages The units can receive unwanted intereference.

Having won this product in a competition on the local radio, I was a bit sceptical of using them at first as it seemed a bit " Smokey and the Bandit, ish" . CB,s lost their appeal in the early eighties as far as I'm concerned.. However, now I have, I wish I came across them sooner than I did. They have come in handy for me on many occassions so far and I have only had them for a month. I have used them at work whilst in the warehouse , so I can be contacted whilst away from my office, I have given one to my son on occassions so I can keep in touch when he's out with his friends, ( his choice not mine, I didn't want to cramp his style, but he seemed quite happy to be seen with them). I have even used them in the house, whilst talking to my wife upstairs, lol. Now for the technical stuff about them:

They have a range of up to 6 kilometres.
They have interchangeable fascias, choice of silver or black.
They have 8 changeable channels.
They have a backlit LCD screen, handy for using in poor light.
They have a lockable keypad.
They have 10 different call tones.
They each have a Swivel belt clip.
They have adjustable volume control.
They are both waterproof and shockproof.
Rechargeable batteries are included with each unit.
There is a battery level meter in the LCD screen.
They sit in a rechargeable pod when not in use.

The talktime for these products are about two and a half hours before they need charging again.
They last about three days on standby without recharging.
The product comes with a one year manufactures warranty.
The price for these units range from about £55 to up to £80.
Overall, I am very happy with these units, they are very lightweight, durable, extremely easy to use, reliable and multi functional. However, I do have one niggly concern regarding the reception, on a couple of occasions, I have been forced to change channels whilst using them, as I have picked up interference from aircraft approaching a local airport about fifteen miles away from where I live. Although I have never experienced static, like you used to get in earlier models. Although I won them in a competition, I would be quite happy to be pay the asking price for these, if I could justify the use for them.
