This is on of the cheapest and best WAP phones on the market. It has recently dropped in price to below the main competition. It has everything you would expect from a mobile, and does its job well. It also has changable covers, to personalise it. Built in is a FM radio, to keep you entertained.
The phonebook can store 80 numbers, which compares well against most phones, and the ring tone is also programmable, although I prefer simply 'Ring Ring'. At least this way, you know it's your phone ringing! Obviously, it has all the usual features- alarm, time, text messaging etc. etc. It's ease of use is also to be admired- simple menu, ok and c buttons are fairly self explanatory. But this is where the MotorolaV2288 sets itself apart. It's games are fairly basic, but highly addictive. Bricks is a modified form of that crappy tennis game everyone used to have, where you can put spin on balls to try and knock out the bricks. Highly repetitive, highly addictive! Baccarat is a game where you bet on which hand will be largest in cards, whilst Towers of Hanoi involves moving bricks accross posts as quickly as possible. Ok, so all the games lack the genius of Nokias Snake games, but its better than most.
But, WAP, is expensive, slow, poor quality and generally a waste of time. Train timetables, by the time they have downloaded you can have called the rail line, slow, expensive and at the moment a gimmick. Now if they could get the phone to accept e-mails from my work station, then it would be useful. But whatever e-mail is so important it has to come down your mobile, you cannot read on the small screen so no good for documents.
I think the design is really good, very sleek and quite funky. You can get it in a variety of colours, ive seen orange, black and silver and if that doesnt appeal it also comes with one or more wraps. I have a metallic silver with a blue wrap which is very stylish (and it also has a luminous wrap, yes it actually is luminous which is a laugh on a night out but not really very useable normally.
It is lacking new technology, such as vibrating alert and is also very big and chunky. It is not the biggest phone on the market, but it is nowhere h=near the snallest.
SPECS:
180 hours stanby 150g weight 80 number phone book built in FM radio
If you want a good phone on a low budget, I recommend you go for this. If you have more to spare, go for a newer model, such as the Nokia 3310.
