Advantages: Small, excellent reception, very stylish and mp3 ringtones ;-) Disadvantages: Menus, menus, menus.
...cover has customisable bits so Motorola claim!
The reception of the phone is very impressive and matches my 6310i. The voices are clear and you can easily hear the person you are speaking to but I can't seem to find a volume control to adjust the volume during a call can't imagine its not there but I can't find it.
All the expected messaging functionality is there long messages, mms etc iTap is very good and I prefer it to T9 already but Nokia ... ...end though the phone is just all round fun; a slightly flawed but cool genius. Oh and if anyone from Motorola is reading this please please please simplify the menu structure, finding something on the phone shouldn't require a degree in logic, and Mother Theresa like patience. ;-) ...

...last 18 months, and a Motorola 3788 for 18 months before that. I decided to get a new phone as the very popular nokia 3310 was starting to go out of fashion. I went and got this phone on Orange contract. But only because I got it in the Carphone Warehouse
This phone was free on the contract that I bought it on but you can also get it on pay as you go for about £100
This Motorola phone has many more features than my first phone - The brilliant 3788

...Of course i chose the Motorola V500, else I wouldnt be writing this review! The reasons i chose the Motorola V500 were:
~ It is in my price bracket, it was only £119.99
~ It is a flip phone and was small, compact and lightweight
~ It has got a digital camera, with a 4x zoom ( I am big on gadgets)
~ It is an attractive looking phone

...doesn't take too long!) the Motorola is simple enough to naviagate around, with a concise and understandable menu page, that helps with the job of trying to find things!
But other features of the phone are far less encouraging than it's appearance and navigation.....
It's battery life leaves little to be desired. Apart from the Battery display on your mainscreen, within the 'Settings' option on the Menu, there is a 'Battery Meter' inside 'Phone ... ...'Snake' of course, but the Motorola has left a lot to either the imagination, or to the Internet download option. 'Stuntman' is a smart enough game, but rather sluggish and limited, and 'Monopoly', yes that's right, the game that can last for days on end, is also available to anyone who has lost all sanity.
In conclusion, don't let my last couple of paragraphs deter you from it altogether. As a 'phone' it is more than acceptable due to it's look ...

Motorola has the same type of feature except that the phone isn't modeled around it and therefore retains some asthetic diginty, infact you bearly notice it.
The colour display is superb, the graphics have a juicy feel to them. You can choose your screen background from a range of factory standard pics or you could just take a picture with the camera and use that. The menus are easy enough to use, Nokia fans will ...
