Some time back I got bored with my then current mobile and wanted to do an upgrade to a new one. I had always used a Nokia till then and felt that I should try something new. I looked around and got a good deal for a nice sleek stylish model called Motorola v70. As I was aware that Motorola is a giant organisation in the telecom sector, I was sure that their products would not be too bad. I talked with friends. Very few had anything like a Motorola except for one of my mates who had a v50, which is an older model of the v70 machine. I got a good review of the same and there I go. I am now a proud owner of the v70 model.
As I have been using it for the past few months and do not regret the change that I made. As many of you may be interested to know about the features that this beauty has, let me talk to you about some of them
Specifications are Weight 2.9 oz, Width 1.5 in, Depth 0.72 in, Height 3.7 in and all this is along with the battery. You will thus understand how small and sleek this model is. It has additional features, which I find quite useful such as voice activated dialling. This is a good feature. However, there are quite a few times that it does not recognise my voice and I have to repeat my works in a louder tone keeping the unit near my mouth. This is especially true in noisy places such as a market or shopping complex.
The unit is also supposed to be WAP enabled. However, as I have not yet had a chance to use this feature and hence would not be able to comment on that.
The talk time that I get from the unit is quite good. I normally have very low usage and hence need to charge up my batteries once a week, which is quite good. My previous Nokia needed me to charge up 2 to 3 times a week so this is a major improvement.
Then there are the standard features such as signal strength and battery indicators, messaging, appointments, call hold, auto redial, call forwarding and all the standard features. It makes no sense talking of them as they are available on all the standard models of any mobile
I understand that the unit is Dual Band, which means that I can use it anywhere in the world?? However, I have not used it to that extent and always been in the UK so I hope to travel with it some day to a distant land. Lets see, fingers crossed.

Review of Motorola V70
Advantages: A small, nice looking phone with a good range of features - and how many mobile phones have chains of ducks walking across the screen? Disadvantages: sometimes slightly slow and, for Nokia familiars, a bit dificult to use.
