WARNING! -- LONG REVIEW!! -- YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! ~ Alternative title (that I wanted to use) ~ Motorola (from the makers of the V3 RAZR mobile phone) T4502 (Tiny4502???) 8-channel (or 8-frequency) PMR (Professional / Personal Mobile Radio). [It's too long for the box -- LoL!] Wow, what a great little two-way radio! I've had my Nectar Card for a good while and I am also a member of a survey company called "TNS" who award points for completing surveys and you can link your "TNS" account to your Nectar Card then get your TNS points automatically transferred into Nectar Points. Recently the Nectar website (Nectar.com) did a 'Summer of Rewards' promotion where a handful of electrical goods were on sale (!! HALF PRICE !!) for a certain amount of Nectar Points. Review of Motorola Talkabout T4502 8-channel PMR

A quality robust 446 Radio from Motorola

Advantages: Robust, User Friendly, Good features
Disadvantages: Fairly expensive, no vibrate, expensive accessories

for a single T6222 with no accessories. Features This radio has the standard 8 PMR446 channels and 18 CTCSS Codes per channel giving 304 possible combinations. The codes allow the user to filter out unwanted traffic on the channel although they are NOT separate channels so its important to check the channel is free ? the red light will flash constant if in use or intermittently if free. Channel scan can be used to monitor for traffic on all channels if the code is set to ?0? or traffic using the same code if code is set to ?1-38?. If scanning all channels the user can reply as the radio will stop on the channel and detect the code automatically ? this is a feature I believe unique to Motorola. Review of Motorola Talkabout T5512 8-channel PMR

Walkabout with a Talkabout

Advantages: No Call Charges, Call signal, Scan function
Disadvantages: Price

explaining the breviety of the manual. The handset is about the size of a mobile phone, maybe just a little bigger. The main difference being the 2" antenna on the top right-hand corner. The body is made of a sturdy plastic (available in navy-blue, black or bright yellow) and has an hourglass shape to it which fits neatly into the palm of the hand. Motorola tout the unit as being shock and splash proof. having dropped one of mine in a shallow puddle, i can vouch for this. Having said that, the unit is not actually waterproof so if you submerse it in water, it WILL break. With a full set of 3 AA batteries fitted it is heavier than a mobile but not massively so, tipping my kitchen scales at 200g. You can use either standard batteries or rechargeables.
