I bought a 6 month old car from Motorpoint of Burnley in September 06. I had been and browsed there before, but never thought about actually buying anything becuase I'd heard some bad stories about Car Supermarkets. We were looking for a particular type of car, and we were able to look at Motorpoints website to see if they had any in stock. This was great as we could find out info on what colours, reg's and mileage that each of the cars had. When we went to look at the car, the salesmen didn't come and 'hound' you (as the7y seem to do everywhere else), they left you to look around, and when you did want to look at a particular car, they would give you the keys and let you know that whilst you have the keys no one else can buy that car, neither will they accept an offer on it from someone else until you give the keys back and let them know that you aren't interested yourself - Excellent! There wasn't a lot of room for haggling the price (I was told this is because the price of the car is so low any way) and I was only offered book price for my car, so I would actually recommend trying to sell a part ex privately to make sure that you get more money (if you have a part ex). There was finance offered, but again you weren't pushed into taking out this finance, if you politely said NO the salesman was fine!! Only problem was that we couldn't take it out for a test drive until the actual day when we picked it up, because all of the cars are squashed into the compound, it makes it v. difficult for the sale people to get it out for you, so they will refuse a test drive if you ask for one. Picking up the car was a breeze, although we weren't given a copy of the service book (and they didn't have spare ones as they aren't FORD dealer, but I went to my nearest forddealers anyway and they gave me one for free. They also wouldn't service the car for me, but I got it at such a bargain price that I couldn't grumble all that much (although I tried) All in all, buying from Motorpoint was fantastic and so easy, I would definately go back to them again to look for my next car.
