A hearing date has been set in DERBY county court when the deal was struck in Scotland.
Take note, Motorpoint record every phone call to and from their branches. I asked for a copy and got SOME of them but not the important ones for my defence.

All went well initially - but I was assumed to pay the last installment of my finance on the old car which was a standing order on the *28th* of each month.
I ordered the car on the 12th of the month and was phoned by the Derby branch that they wanted the deal done in Glasgow on thursday the *27th* of that month. They said that if it didn't happen then, the part exchange would lose a calander month in the glasses car valuation guide and they stood to lose £500. I explained that I couldn't get to Glasgow that day due to infant care - but they basically pushed me into this.
So, I went to Glasgow, signed the deal, and swapped the paperwork and left my old car with them. I assumed that, as now they had possesion of my old car and it's paperwork, I could then cancel my standing order with my bank.
Driving my new astra back home, I cancelled the standing order with my bank.
Their car now being part exchanged on 27th of the month and my payment due on the 28th of the month.
Got phoned a few days later to say that the final payment hadn't been made to my old cars finance company.
I am now being taken to court by Motorpoint for non payment. And was threatened that Motorpoint would repossess my new astra for non payment !

Advantages: Good choice. Excellent prices Disadvantages: Parking not good
Staff and website are both very good.
Have bought 3 cars there over last 4 years, and will be my first choice in the future. Very good for BRAND NEW and NEARLY NEW vehicles.
Specialising in standard models, therefore they dont have every variant and colour.
Drawback - they may have the car you want, but not necessarily in the colour you want.
They adverise in the Saturday papers, and carry many of the most popular makes. Many low mileage nearly ...

Advantages: Helpful staff, good prices, serviced and valeted before collection. Disadvantages: Cars tightly packed, difficult to inspect properly. Staff difficult to find at peak times.
I initially went to motorpoint to check out prices which were very competitive. It can be difficult to park on site at weekends due to the small car park. However once there you are free to browse around the site, all cars are priced up and technical data, mileage etc are displayed on the windscreens. a car than ever before and some of the new ways in my opinion are distinctly superior to the methods which have given the car trade a bad name.
An example, based on my own experience, is Motorpoint of Derby. It is a carsupermarket, which means it sells a variety of new and nearly new cars. Most seem to be either imported from Europe (the new vehicles) or are ex-fleet vehicles from the UK (with a few thousand miles on the clock) A similar operation is Direct Cars of Sheffield. I visited this too, and found it to be very similar to Motorpoint, but as I ended up buying from Motorpoint I will confine my assessment to this firm.
The main point about Motorpoint is that it competes on price, so it has no need to use fancy sales gimmicks. It is quite possible to save several thousands of the UK list price of a new vehicle by dealing ...

Advantages: Very, very cheap cars, and excellent service. Disadvantages: In the open air, not easy to spot a specific model.
I have just bought a new car from Motorpoint at Derby. The price of the vehicle, and Motorpoint's service were both fantastic! If you want to buy a new car, this is THE place to go!
Motorpoint now have two sites. Derby and Burnley. Their price lists are available in most of the free car sales magazines in supermarkets and petrol stations, and in the Telegraph on Saturdays. They also have a web site (www.motorpoint.co.uk) where current stocks are detailed.
The site at Derby is enormous (just off the A52 East of the City centre). Over 2000 cars are on show on the site. Parking for your own car is a bit restricted, and the cars are in random positions in the show area, so locating any specific model is not easy! Most of the cars are in the open, so if you visit the site when it's rainind, do take a brolly!
