Advantages: Well made, low priced Disadvantages: None apart from age.
...I'm often asked where a good cheap set of drums can be acquired, usually with the same response, Dunno!
Just kidding.
What I normally tell people is to look out for a Hohner lite set, as in general they are pretty good and quite easy to pick up cheaply as they are now relatively old, but the age is of no consequence.
Unlike most cheap kits the Lite LE ain't half bad, I've actually go a set myself.
The standard set consists of 5 drums. Bass - Floor Tom - Twin Toms - Snare. Any cymbals or other add-ons are just that, Separate add-ons. But that don't kill the kit as most second hand sets come with hi-hats and a splash or two, often with no extra cost so the kit becomes an even better bargain.
As said it's a basic 5 piece, and these are of a good solid design that look the part with a laminated coating and nice bright chrome keys...

...The microKORG is one of the best selling synthesizers worldwide and has been used by several electronic bands such as Enter Shikari and Massive Attack.
The box simply contains the tiny 2kg microKORG itself, the vocoder microphone, power supply and manual. Users may at first be surprised by exactly how small the product is if they haven't seen it in real life before. It has only 3 octaves, and the keys are reminiscent of those found on a toy keyboard. One thing is for sure; don't expect to be playing any Bach or Beethoven on this baby, as it is almost impossible to get any articulation or expression in the cheap, plastic, weightless keys.
The preset sounds that are supplied are the epitome of mediocrity. On the other hand, the modulation wheel on the left of the keys is extremely handy and easy to use. However i felt that apart from...

Advantages: AWESOME!!!!! Disadvantages: Single ply pickguard
...I bought this guitar from Sound Control for £299. This guitar rules, even if you don't like Jimi Hendrix (but who doesn't?). When this guitar arrived, i opened the free, well padded and well made gig bag, to find the stunning white guitar underneath.
This guitar is absolutely awesome. It feels remarkably solid for a Fender, and coming from an Epiphone Les Paul, it didn't feel weedy. The acoustic tone is nice, very defined and quite jangly. When i plugged in to my Line 6 Spider 3, this guitar really came alive. I have heard people say Fenders have no guts. This guitar dispelled that to me. The brigde has twang, the middle is like a Lite version of the brigde and the neck is sooooo smooth. The inbetween settings have the same sounds, no hum, and a lot of girth.
The actual playability of this guitar is also excellent, with well dressed...
