Advantages: SMOOTHER AND QUIETER Disadvantages: NOT CHEAP
Total (a well known petrol station here in the UK) which I have used in the past without any problems but unfortunately the price of Citroen's Total oil was £34.99 and well over my budget.
I was beginning to get a little frantic on my Laptop checking all the local car shops to compare the prices, when my sister shouted out "Donovan have you checked out Halfords yet" I must say I hadn't thought of it. So I put on my Timberlands and walked (jogged) to my local Halfords store.
Halfords had plenty of brands and blends of motor oil to choose from including there own make and also had 20% of all engineoil (which was music to my ears). I have seen Mobil engineoil ...
Advantages: A very good quality oil. Disadvantages: Has to be paid for.
This oil is Castrol GTX, which stands for - errr - OK it doesn't actually stand for anything really. Anyway, so this is suitable for all Petrol engines, including ones fitted with a Turbocharger, If you have a Diesel, you will require Castrol GTD.

Castrol have their own website of course, have a look at it here:-

Advantages: Very good oil. Disadvantages: Can be expensive depending where you buy.
OK, Yet another review on engineoil, I know I do tend to do these, but you keep reading them so you only have yourselves to blame.
I have done a few reviews on Castrol, because I like the stuff, and because I believe it is good value for money, this review is on the GTX brand, sold under the Magnatec label, in it's 10w-40 version.
I will just explain what these figures mean, sorry if you have heard this before but so many people just go for the one with the fancy Logo on the can.
The first figure - "10W" - means that the oil can be pumped by your engine, just as well as a single-grade SAE 10oil can be pumped. The "W" means that this oil is suitable for Winter conditions, this is because the oil is a Multigrade, and therefore suitable for all seasons. If you have a classic car which will be only started up in the Summertime ...
