This oil is recommended by most of the major car manufacturers.
5W/30? What does that mean? Right, it is perfectly simple:-
5 - is the viscosity at low temperatures.
W - means it complies with the requirements for winter conditions.
30 - is the viscosity at high temperatures.
So now you know, Gents you may now explain this to your mates in the pub and get street cred, Ladies, you could do the same but I would recommend you stick to talking about kittens or knitting! Sorry.
This oil is NOT recommended for aviation engines, or for any two stroke motors.

Advantages: A very good quality oil. Disadvantages: Has to be paid for.
This oil is Castrol GTX, which stands for - errr - OK it doesn't actually stand for anything really. Anyway, so this is suitable for all Petrol engines, including ones fitted with a Turbocharger, If you have a Diesel, you will require Castrol GTD.
I do recommend this oil, and if buying, I would advise shopping around at local Motor accessory shops, and Supermarkets and DIY Superstores, where you will find bargains.

Total (a well known petrol station here in the UK) which I have used in the past without any problems but unfortunately the price of Citroen's Total oil was £34.99 and well over my budget.
I was beginning to get a little frantic on my Laptop checking all the local car shops to compare the prices, when my sister shouted out "Donovan have you checked out Halfords yet" I must say I hadn't thought of it. So I put on my Timberlands and walked (jogged) to my local Halfords store.
Halfords had plenty of brands and blends of motor oil to choose from including there own make and also had 20% of all engineoil (which was music to my ears).
