JuiceMachine Pro – Whole fruit Juicer by Moulinex -------------------------------------------------------------------- I like fruitjuice very much so does my resident geek. I can’t drink a lot because of my diabetes and he frequently forgets about it consequently I must have thrown away orchards worth’s of half drunk cartons of Tropicana over the years.
Neither of us like bought smoothies either. Bananas belong either in a banana split or in your hand not in a smoothie. For me they just spoil the whole taste. I stopped trying them quite some time back and got myself a decent juicer. This one takes the hard work out of juicing: not that it’s something to sweat over but I am essentially a fairly lazy creature and I’m also messy round the kitchen… I use all my tidiness up at work!
This juicers going to cost you around £50 so I’d best explain why I like it so much.
It doesn’t look too bad in its silver and black design. In fact it’s quite stylish and goes with the rest of our stainless steel stuff. It’s easy to keep clean: everything except the base can go in a dishwasher or the sink. The base just wipes clean and you don’t leave sticky finger prints as you don’t mess with the fruit.
Whole fruit: it means what it says. you stuff the fruit, an apple for example .down the chute, push it in with the pokey thing , press the button and apple juice comes out of the spout and the peel, seeds and core collect in the transparent pulp container. You can do as little as you want, or as much. The pulp container holds 3 litres so you can make a lot of juice before you have to empty it. It juices virtually every fruit or vegetable that you would want to juice, including citrus.
It has different food pushers (or pokey things in our house): A traditional one and a double one for carrots and celery and a tube one for little things like strawberries, cherries, grapes, raspberries etc.
It has a 600W motor with 2 speeds: quick and fast! The slower speed is best for woody items like carrots, plus pineapple if you chop it but don’t remove the skin.
It has a micro-mesh filter to stop the peel etc getting into the juice. Nice rubber feet so it doesn’t slip away from you as your stuffing those fruits down. It also has a locking handle so all the component parts stay where they should .It comes with a specially designed cleaning brush so if you don’t use a dishwasher you can easily get in to the parts. Everything is well designed and has no nooks and crannies that trap food fragments.
The juice spout is at a nice height so it’s possible to get the juice straight into your glass if you’re doing just enough juice for one serving.
I got this book with mine “The Juice Master Keeping It Simple: Over 100 Delicious Juices and Smoothies by Jason Vale. It’s worth keeping an eye out for. It has loads of exotic recipes in it , which you try at first until you settle down with your favourites… orange and raspberry are a consistent favourite ,but nectarine and cherry is catching up
You can get this juicer from Tesco direct but you can get it at a cheaper price if you shop around online

I've been thinking of buying a juicer for a while, but i've recently found out how expenisve it is to make your own juices compared with buying ready made ones so i don't think i'll be bothering! G. x
