Advantages: the weather, the people, the area, virtually everything in fact Disadvantages: the beach sellers, the cockroaches, the long flight time from the UK, and a small earthquake.
Firstly my general rule of thumb about going on holiday is, when choosing a destination it must be somewhere I have not been before, but Acapulco is somewhere I would return to in a heartbeat.
It has to be one of the best holidays I have had in a long time.
Why? I hear you ask.
We booked about 6 weeks before we went so not exactly last minute, but not ages in advance and paid around £750 each for all inclusive 4 star hotel for two weeks. All the hotels are arranged around the bay along a long road called La Costera, and many are actually on the beach.
The hotel was fabulous, on the beach and the staff were great, you didnt even have to get out of your sunlounger to go to the bar, the waiters came down on to the beach and delivered your drinks to you dripping with ice. Well you need to keep cool in 47C heat.

Advantages: look amazing and individual, handle the road well, ooze quality Disadvantages: Over time the standard look will corrode easily, they are bloody expensive brand new!
BBS wheels come from Germany, America and Japan. They are a well known, well respected brand, that make good, solid, beautiful wheels for all sorts of cars. These are prestige wheels though, they are not cheap. A new set of BBS LM?s (Le-Mans) will set you back about £3,000 and that?s without tyres!
The ?deep dish? look is very popular in the VW modding scene and these wheels soon grew on me. They are popular, yet clearly the price is prohibitive. Some people buy replica ones which although look nice still, aren?t really up to scratch, looks aren?t everything. After all, you get what you pay for, as they say. I had decided I didn?t want replica?s. It was either the real thing, or nothing at all. Then that magical place called ebay had a set on auction. Badly kerbed and corroded, they were ?cheap?. I managed to win the bidding at £970 ...
I bought my Moulinex hand-mixer around five years ago, for about £10. Previously I had had larger mixers, the kind that come with a stand and a bowl. However I had found some distinct disadvantages with this type of mixer: for one thing, they either take up a great deal of space on the kitchen work surfaces, or get packed away in a cupboard and then it's a nuisance to get them out. Then there's the problem that only one bowl (that supplied with the mixer) will fit the base, so if I wanted to mix two or three things in separate bowls, I had to keep decanting what was already mixed, and cleaning the bowl out. And if the bowl breaks, the mixer becomes useless, unless you can find a replacement. With some mixers it's possible to remove the main mechanism from the stand, and use it as a hand-held one, but I never found that this worked ...
