Advantages: bit of time inside from the rain Disadvantages: was crap
...well. what can i say. did anyone actually believe that the makers of bridget jones' diary -the movie had ever actually read the book?? what a load of pap. all the personality of teh book had been lost. the brilliantly funny storylines - in the book- were skimmed over in the film. some of the best were missed out. the people picked to play the roles of friends were totally unbeliecable. while i sat in the cinema, hoping for my beloved book to be turned into a cinematic masterpeice, i was shrinking with disappointment. what a waste of £5 on my part. dont make the same mistake as me. wait for video if you really have to see it. but i really wouldnt't bother if i were you......

Advantages: Different, daring, good satire of celebrity and media culture Disadvantages: Lacks satisfying conclusion, seperate parts not integrated

Of course should steamy love screens be your thing, stick to Mills and Boon.
The film was recently showing in Bristol and will be in Manchester soon, see http://www.macfreefilms.com for more details. As for the book it was brought for me as a present from...
