Advantages good old terry pratchetts humor

Disadvantages don't like victor

Moving pictures is part of a series of books called Discworld written by Author Terry Pratchett.

Terry's books are always full of humor and I have enjoyed this book thoroughly .

The book goes into inventions we take for granted everyday such as film and popcorn and Terry makes light humor of when those were first invented. What we think of as the normal today people of the past would think of as magic.

In moving pictures it features some old favorite Like the librarian who is a former wizard that was once a human before he was transformed into an orangutan by a magic book.

In the beginning of the book there is a new Arch-chancellor of unseen University who gets to meet the librarian for the first time which is funny because everyone else is use to the librarian and he is shocked to see an orangutan as a librarian as well as everyone seems to understand
what he says even though the librarian only ever says ook.

The book also gets funny when the people of the discworld discover how to make pop corn for the first time. They also have to be careful about marketing popcorn as magic is only aloud to be performed by wizards at unseen university.

Moving pictures is what we call filming.Which was invented by a group of alchemists.
My biggest criticism of the book is Victor one of the characters of the book does not add anything to the book Terry even wrote a line in the book that says if he could do a job that does nothing all day he would. He does help out with filming a bit but his characters so boring.

One thing I am happy about is in the beginning of the book he did not spend to much explaining how the who discworld works like he usually does.My head just goes into space when he gets to scientific.

The invention of filming sounds very similar to how the author of his dark materials described it. as demons inside a box painting pictures to capture the film.

Would I recommend this book to anyone yes because not only does it have Terry Pratchett's humor but it has interesting takes on some daily inventions that we use everyday today.

For Anyone that enjoyed this book the next book 11 is entitled reaper man and if its go the character death aka grim reaper it should be funny.

I've never got into his books before, but this sounds intruiging.
