‘Mr Bump’ is number 6 in the very famous Mr Men series by Roger Hargreaves. It is impossible for him to hold down a job as he is such a liability. Mr Bump eventually decides to go on a holiday to get over all his little accidents and try to come up with an idea of a job he can do. You’ll have to read the book if you want to find out whether or not he succeeds!
The ‘Mr Men’ books are small [they measure 13.6 x 13 x 0.8 cm] and all have white covers with a picture of the main character from the story on them. Mr Bumps is blue and round and has bandages wrapped around his head and his tummy from all the bumps he has!

Mr. Bump eventually retrieves his memory of course at the end of the story. The bold illustrations by Adam Hargreaves are simple but effective in accompanying the story giving a visual interpretation of what is going on along with the text. My grandchildren love having this ... ...talk about the accidents Mr Bump has in the different situations by using questions like “What do you think happens next?” before turning the page to find out. It is a great interactive book that my grandchildren enjoy reading over and over again. Young children learning to read can use the illustrations to help promote their reading skills. I remember reading some of these books to my children and now I am reading them to the grandchildren. A very ...
