    By the time that I finish this review I may need some handy tips on removing pastry crumbs and sticky finger marks from my keyboard so if anyone has written a review on such a wonder product I will gladly read and rate. For the subject of my review today is Mr Kipling's individual Apple & Blackcurrant Pies. I picked up my packet of six individual pies from Asda yesterday for £1.04 and confess that this box now contains only two of the gorgeous little blighters.     I have written a lot about allergy-free food, but apart from the obvious basic foods have neglected the pastry. This can be a nightmare for lactose intolerants, vegans, gluten allergies and the big nasty, nuts. Sometimes the ingredients look fine, but things like whey have been missed out, deadly for me. For a while now, I have eaten Mr Kipling apple and blackcurrant individual pies, with no ill effects. They don’t state they are milk free, but suitable for vegans, which is the same thing.     Mr Kipling sets the standards high with the tag line 'Exceedingly good cakes', rightly your expectations are immense. These apple and blackcurrant pies certainly do not disappoint! The are purchased in a box of six pies, for around £1.10 (depending on where you shop and what offers are on - I frequently find these are on a bogof offer). The pies are placed in the box on a plastic tray, with a cellophane coating to ensure freshness. Each pie comes in a foil case too. The pies are mad of shortcrust pastry with a bramley apple and blackcurrant filling, which is a bright purple in colour. The ... more
