    Advantages Advantages THEY TASTE YUMMY

    Disadvantages Disadvantages shhh.....(they're fattening)

I did a quick trip round the Sainsburys this afternoon, as the kids are on there Easter break they are rapidly eating me out of house and home. I needed to top up on one or two things and was dragged over to the cake section by my daughters who pointed to everything but we agreed on three packets of cakes which as I look behind me are disappearing rather rapidly. In the name of research I did manage to grab a couple and thought that you might like to share my opinion/pleasure... ..................... THE PRODUCT ..................... Advantages Advantages Tasty!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None!

The bake well slices are very attractive to look at. They consist of a slice (sized around 4x2 inches (my guess). The top consists of a lovely looking topping of white icing with ‘brown swirls’. The bottom consisting of the bake well with a strip of jam (fruity plum and raspberry) visibly showing. The slices are ‘twin wrapped’ meaning that a box of 6 slices consists of 3 individually wrapped portions of two slices’. I think that this is a good amount, and also if you are on a diet, you feel a bit greedy if you go and unwrap another portion. Although, all this packaging isn’t good for the ... more

Advantages Advantages Soft and delicious, not horrendously naughty!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Excess packaging

My gran, bless her, routinely gives my partner and I a 'goodie bag' every week (despite the fact we're both pushing 30!) This is obviously lovely of her, and it does give us treats for the week and good things to pop in my partners lunch box that we ordinarily wouldn't buy ourselves. One of the many items we've had the pleasure of munching thanks to granny, is Mr Kipling bakewell slices. She usually buys things like this in our local Farmfoods where they are a bit over £1 each or two for £2. They are packaged as the pic above shows, and as with all Mr Kipling cakes now the box clearly states ... more

Advantages Advantages Very tasty and sweet

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Too much packaging

I'm well known within my family for have a craving with all things sweet, and I'm not ashamed to admit it! Whether it's sweets, cakes, chocolates, pies or any other sugar-loaded product, I'm a sucker for them! So it was on my last shopping trip at the local Asda that I picked up a pack of Mr. Kiplings Bakewell Slices. Now, seeing as it was a Mr. Kipling product, I didn't hesitate as you normally expect nothing but the sweetest from them. The first thing you have to be aware of when purchasing anything from the Mr. Kipling 'slices' range, is that all the packaging looks the same. A reddish ... more

    Advantages Advantages twin packed

Disadvantages Disadvantages not as nice as cherry bakwells

I love cherry bakewells so when I saw these Mr Kipling bakewell slices I just had to buy a packet, I think they were on offer in tesco any two for £1.50. They come in a box with a few of the slices on the front so you can see what they look like, the box has Mr Kipling written in quite big white writing to the left with exceedingly good cakes underneath. It tells you that you get 6 slices with a delicious almond sponge. They are packed in twos with their own little plastic tray and see through wrapper which I thought was a great idea as they will stay nice and fresh that way, it says on the ... more
