Mr Muscle Multi-Task Bathroom

I usually use Flash bathroom, as I find it effective and I adore the smell of it. As I have said in previous reviews I do not like to spend too much money on my cleaning products, so if I can’t find the Flash bathroom on special offer, I will often try an alternative. I actually went to Poundland in search of my favourite Flash, but it wasn’t in stock. What they did have however, was the Mr Muscle Multi-Task bathroom and I decided that I would give that a go.

The bottle is a deep purple colour and very striking. I must admit the bottle did play some part in my decision to purchase the product, as I tend to be very shallow like that! The bottle is rather large, containing 750mls, yet is comfortable to hold. The nozzle can be twisted to the on/off position, and the trigger is easy enough to use.

As this is a ‘multi-task’ product, it is suitable for several surfaces – shower screens, sinks, taps, baths, tiles and even mirrors. I do usually use the Mr Muscle glass cleaner on my bathroom mirror, however if I can get away with using just one bottle of cleaner instead of two, then of course I will.

The first thing I noticed when it came to using the cleaner was the smell. I did not like it at all and still don’t like it now. It’s really hard to describe the scent – I sometimes think it smells a little bit fruity, however overall it’s quite a sugary scent mixed in with a heady chemical aroma. It’s not a patch on Flash, scent-wise, but it doesn’t smell so bad that I can’t put up with it.

In terms of effectiveness, I do find the product to be quite good. I have recently had new tiles in the bathroom and am keen to keep them and the grout looking fresh and new. This product wipes away any shampoo/soap/cleanser/toothpaste etc…which may have splashed onto the tiles and gives them a streak-free sparkly finish.

Both my sink and bath are also left clean with this product and are left with a good, clean finish. Soap scum is wiped away quickly and even when I have had dried on rings of conditioner on the side of the bath where it’s dripped down the bottle, I don’t find I need to leave the product on to work. It really is just a case of spray and wipe with this liquid.

Whilst this gets the taps clean, I don’t think it leaves them as sparkling as I would expect, but it is certainly tough enough to wipe away any marks on them and doesn’t leave them streaky – just slightly dull in my opinion.

I was a little apprehensive about trying this on the mirror, what with it not being a cleaner specifically designed for just glass, however I found it worked well. It got rid of any smudges and smears and didn’t leave any streaks behind.

As mentioned I bought this in Poundland, where of course it cost just £1, however looking around it seems that the big supermarkets don’t appear to be stocking it anymore, so it may be a little difficult to get hold of. I’m not 100% sure, but I suspect this has perhaps been discontinued, so discount stores and pound shops might be the best places to look should you want to try this.

Overall, I do like this product and for the price I paid it has been very effective. I also like that I can clean my mirrors with it too, which is a handy little feature. The main negative point for me is the scent which I really don’t like at all, however thankfully it doesn’t linger after cleaning, and so whilst this would not be my first choice of bathroom cleaner (that award still goes to Flash) I would be happy to use it again.
