Occasionally I like to have a pampering night where I sit in front of the TV, do a face mask, paint my toenails and generally do girlie things. One of my favourite face masks to use is the Mudd range of face masks.
Range The Mudd range is quite varied and includes masks which exfoliate, a medicated mask, masks for men and the original mud mask - which is my favourite.
Packaging The original face mask comes in 5 inch x 3 inch sachet which is white and brown. Each sachet contains 15ml of the face mask. On the front of the sachet there is a small picture of a woman with the mask applied to her face and I have to admit that it literally looks like she has covered her face in mud! Next to that picture is a slightly larger picture of the same woman with very healthy looking glowing skin. On the back of the packaging, there is all the usual info such as ingredients and a customer comments address and phone number. There is also a product description on the back which claims that the mask 'draws out hidden oils and grime from your skin'. There are also directions for use on the back in English and also in 3 other languages (although I could not tell you what those languages are!) Best of all, it also states on the back that this product is not tested on animals which is another reason I like this product.
Price I buy these masks up Tesco where they cost 99p which is very reasonable. These masks are also available in shops such as Boots and Superdrug for the same price.
About The Mask When you first get the mask out of the packet, it pretty much just looks like mud. Apparently this product is made from 100% clay which would make sense as it smells like clay which isn't the nicest smelling face mask I have used but it isn't unpleasant either. The clay contains lots of minerals which are good for your skin and will help to remove any impurities in your pores. I have quite sensitive skin and this product does not aggravate me in anyway as it has been dermatologically tested.
Using The Mask Before you apply the mask, you will need to ensure that you have removed any makeup. I tend to cleanse my face before using this to make sure that my face is clean and the mask can get to my pores, if you really want to ensure the mask gets to your pores then you can apply this mask while laying in a hot bath (meaning you pores will be open because of the heat) The idea is to then spread the mask all over your face avoiding your eyes and mouth. These is more than enough face mask in one sachet and sometimes I only use half the sachet and save the other half for another night but most of the time I do tend to use the whole sachet. The packet informs you that you will need to wait 10-15 minutes for the face mask to dry but I would say that it takes much longer for it to dry completely. To dry completely, I would allow around 25 minutes (and even longer if you are in a warm bath) As the mask is drying, your face does feel quite tight and smiling is an experience as you can feel your face cracking as you do so once the mask has dried.
Removing The Mask To remove the mask you are meant to soften the dried clay with a flannel and then gently wipe off. This can take ages as the clay is quite difficult to remove once it has dried fully. I feel that this is the one disadvantage to this product, it takes nearly as long to remove it as it does to apply it and wait for it to dry.
Conclusion After removing the mask, my skins always feels unbelievably smooth, in fact, just like a babies skin. However, I find that my skin actually shows the effects of the mask the next day - as my skin still feels nice and smooth and my complexion is healthy and glowing with no blemishes showing.
In Summary I would definitely recommend this product. It is cheap and has great results, leaving your skin looking refreshed and healthy for up to 3 days after using the product. The mask is easy to apply and easy to remove from the packaging. The only downsides are that it doesn't smell as nice as some of the other face masks on the market and it can takes ages to remove the mask.
Advantages: Clears spots, smoothes skin Disadvantages: Takes ages to remove
...fan of the range of Mudd face masks, but the original is my favourite, and works wonders for my skin. I suffered with bad acne when I was a teenager, and although my skin has improved a lot, it is still prone to spots and blackheads. I first bought one of these face masks a few years ago and haven't looked back.
The Packaging:
The Original face masks come in 7cm x 13cm white and brown sachets and contains 15ml. On the front there is a picture of ... ...say the results from using this mask are exactly the same (saving me £35 a time!!).
Mudd Original Face Masks are made by Chattem UK Ltd and cost 99p each. They are available in Boots and Tesco, among others.
Thanks for reading and have a Merry pore-cleaning Christmas! ...

Advantages: Leaves skin clean, super smooth & glowing. Disadvantages: Requires a little effort to remove & can frighten little people if they see you wearing it!
...to these small sachets of Mudd Original Mask on the shelf in front of me. Having a vague recollection of one of my friends saying they'd used these before and spotting that they were only 99 pence, I thought I'd give it a whirl and threw one into the trolley. My weekend treat to myself shall we say.

Apply Mudd Original Mask over the entire face avoiding the eye area. Allow 10 - 15 minutes to dry then soften with a cool wet cloth and gently wipe off. Use once or twice a week or as needed.
THE EXPERIENCE.......
Well, remember what this product is called because when it first comes out of that packet it really does look like Mud. It's actually of a good consistency, not too thick, not too runny and smooths on to the skin very ...

Advantages: works well Disadvantages: looks... erm ...attractive!
I am one of those people who likes to make life as simple as possible. So face-masks don’t really usually come into my vocabulary. Well, at least they didn’t until I tried this one. Its one of the few variations on face-masks that I have actually tried, as I have heard that some face-masks can bring out spots. I don’t know if this is true but apparently some face-masks work by bringing out all the skins impurities and then afterwards ... ...cant be bothered with all that so I never bothered. Don’t ask what changed my mind, I just thought, hey why not?
As my skin can get quite oily sometimes, I tried the exfoliating one as I have heard that if you have oily skin you should exfoliate once a week. Well, I do, but this seemed as though it would suit my skin type. It also cleanses so it seemed like a good choice.
Even if I didn’t have oily skin, I still think would have chosen ...

Advantages: Effective Disadvantages: Not particularly glamorous
...I won a tube of Mudd face mask in a competition in "Chat" so thought I'd better try it at least once, and I'm amazed at how good it is! I suffer from blackheads on my nose and chin and previously I'd always thought that the best way to get rid of them was squeeze them out (sorry if this presents far too graphic an image for you!). I'd also tried those little sticky plaster things that are supposed to pull your blackheads out, but I found that some ... ...So I tried the Mudd mask. They're available in several varieties but the one I won is Aloe. It's pale green and has a slightly gritty texture, it reminded me a little of oddly coloured cement. I had to soak my face with warm water and then I slathered the mask all over my face (avoiding the eye area, as directed on the bottle). At first it felt great, really warm and comfortable, but that didn't last long! Within a couple of minutes it had started ...

Advantages: It leaves your skin totally clean and soft and is good for sgetting rid of spots. Disadvantages: None
...a face mask. The Mudd mask though was a totally new experience for me and my face, it just left my skin tingling with cleanness. When I put this mask on for the first time I had doubts about my skin feeling any different, I had a nasty spot coming and I thought if anything it will just make it worse because they usually do as they are drawing the excess oil out. But, to my amazement when I took the mask off the spot looked much less angry and inflamed ... ...put a little of the mudd mask on the area. The mask actually works because it contains 100% pure clays which contain special minerals which absorb excess oil, deeply imbedded dirt and make-up. Mudd Mask is non-comedogenic (which means it won't clog pores or cause blemishes and it helps control spots and blackheads as it tones and tightens the skin. I noticed it toned my skin because when I took the mask off my skin appeared flushed as if the mask ...

Advantages: Leaves skin pink, smooth and glowing Disadvantages: Messy when rinsing off
removed most of the dried Mudd.
My face was glowing and my breasts were like two pulsating beacons. What on earth had I done! And then I remembered the man with BF, "Wonder who he is?" I touched my face and it actually felt quite nice and soft. Almost like it was slightly damp following being moisturised. It looked pink though - likewise my boobs, and again the skin felt smooth and tight.
My immediate opinion overall of Mudd was pretty good. I had used the 'OriginalMask'. The pink glow after use is seemingly quite normal and simply indicates an increase of circulation. So no harm done! There is a warning that should any skin irritation develop then you should discontinue use - which is obvious really. I seemed to be OK.
The ingredient's are described as 'Nature's Own', whatever that means, and is said to be a pure clay ...

Advantages: great for removing dry dead skin cells Disadvantages: you might get freaked out by the peeling off part
I would like to think that my skin is quite good. Okay it is kind of dry in the middle of my forehead, but other than that I am fine. Touch wood I rarely get spots nowadays, I seemed to grow out of them. One product I really enjoy using and find very helpful is the Mudd Peel Off Face Mask. There are other MuddMasks available, such as the ?Original?, ?Sea Clay? and ?Self Heating? to name a few.
It comes in a 15ml foil sachet that cost me 88 pence in Asda. I think it might be available in tubes from Boots for just under a fiver. The sachet has a white section up the left hand side with green writing which says ?Mudd?. Along the top it says ?Peel-off Mask? in white writing on a green background. Below this there is a picture of half a woman?s face and she is peeling off her mask. Down at the bottom it says ?With fruit AHA ...
