When I was younger, and my family and I used to go out for dinners at restaurants and pubs, one of my little brothers always used to opt for the Fudge cakes for dessert! I found this quite confusing as I had never been a fan of chocolate based puddings, and normally opted for an apple crumble and custard, banoffee pie or such like! However when I came across the "Classic Alabama Fudge Cake Muller Corner", the temptation was to strong, and into our trolley it went.
Alabama fudge cake is one of the newer corners, however even if it had been around when I was little I don't think it would have been I'd have liked to try. However, with the amazing offer on at Asda now of 10 Muller corners for £2, I thought, "why not?" and took advantage of the deal. Individually the corners sell for 54p, so this is really a massive saving, and after doing the (easy?) maths, I realised the offer meant each corner was selling for a tiny 20p! Fantastic or what?
The Alabama Fudge Cake corner sports an attractive lid. One that gives off a very "chocolatey" look! Corner lids, are the only way to determine which corner is which. In this case, the foil lid is a deep brown shade in colour, with a lighter brown towards to the top of the lid. Muller is written in the never-changing white writing on a red background. Under this the word crunch! is written in brown writing, almost camoflauged into the background, and underneith this CORNER is written in large red writing. Alabama Chocolate Fudge Cake, is then printed, and just reading it at the time got my tastebuds dancing! In the right hand corner, an illusion is shown, appearing that the lid is being peeled back, revealing a scrumptious looking helping of brown chocolate balls, and small peices of fudge! A mixture of two of my most favourite things! On the "peeling" of the lid, an image of the american flag is shown, giving a definite edge and a slight difference to this corner!
Peeling back the lid, I was met with a glorious site! A fairly pale brown yogurt, resembling the delicious and much loved Toffee Muller Light. At first glance it did look slightly watery, but this was not a problem once I had given a little mix. In the smaller section, the contents looked even better than it had done on the lid. Some small chocolate balls, mixed together with some gorgeous looking fudge peices. The aroma (?) of the yogurt was very sweet. Much like the scent of the Toffee Muller Light. A slight fudgy-ness could be detected too however no chocolate could be smelt at all!
Spooning some of the yogurt into my mouth, I discovered that all though it looked exactly like a muller light, and smelled exactly like a muller light, the crunch corner yogurt was alot creamier, and a little sweeter too. The yogurt did taste rather toffee-like however it tasted slightly of fudge too. After I had mixed the yogurt slightly it did thicken up quite alot, and didn't cause any problems whatsoever! On my second spoonful of yogurt I was really surprised to feel a different texture. The unusual texture, smooth yet sticky was the fudge sauce! I had totally forgotten about this, and the surprise was lovely! The stickyness wasn't too bad as the yogurt took the edge off it, and the extremely sweet taste was "cooled down" by the creamy yogurt! After I had tried the yogurt, I moved onto the "compot" next too it. The chocolate balls were much similar to the digestive chocolate balls in the chocolate digestive corner. A slightly creaminess followed by the sweet biscuit. The fudge peices were gorgeous too! I can't lie and say they were the best I have ever had, because they aren't but they were very nice indeed. They were really sweet and had a soft texture to them really easy on the teeth. Mixing the four textures together, a delicious concoction was made. The first thing that you taste is the yogurt, followed by the soft chewy fudge, and finally the crunch of the balls. The sauce was detected all the way throughout eating the mixture.
After I had finished I was left wanting more. Even though I was extremely full up and probably couldn't have finished half of another one, I still was left with the addictive taste in my mouth. Now like most delicious things this corner was extremely unhealthy. As with all other corners, I always have to refer to the Muller website for the nutrition information- firstly as the information is printed in extremely small black print, almost impossible to read and secondly because the nutrition is given per 100g, which is useless as the corner is 150g. The Muller website is really helpful however, and I am told that each Fudge cake corner contains a whopping 249 calories and 8.6g of fat! I think the calories and fat in this corner is one of the highest you could have, but boy was it worth it!!
The yogurt would be perfect for a sweet treat after a meal, however I would only recomend once and again, due to the calories and fat. The corner would also be a good sweet pick-me-up mid afternoon, however again in moderation. Most kids like something sweet, am I right? Well this would be perfect to pop into there lunchbox. The fudge cake corner is also suitable for vegetarians but due to the milk content is not suitable for the lactose intolerant. Who knows, one day they may make Soya corners! (Eugh!!)

Review of Muller Classic Alabama Chocolate Fudge Cake
Advantages: tasty, cheap Disadvantages: Not too healthy!
When it comes to yoghurts, Müller have to be one of the greatest manufacturers around. Although I'd usually go for their wide range of Light yoghurts, now and again I'll delve in a Corner option. Whether it's a Fruit or a Crunch corner, I'm not overly fussy, but on this occasion I decided to try the Alabama Chocolate Fudge Cake.
The name is a bit of a mouthful, isn't it? I think I can safely say that it was not that which attracted me, but was in ... ...a tiny picture of the American flag, next to an collection of chocolate and fudge pieces (what you could expect to find in the smaller corner). Of course, looks can be deceiving, but was this the case?
When I peeled back the lid, which was a slight challenge but fortunately created no mess, I frowned slightly. The yoghurt was a pale brown colour, similar to the Toffee Müller Light yoghurt. Though the lid had explained that there was a layer of fudge ...

...the same as the ordinary Muller corner pots with the main compartment with the yoghurt and layered over a thick fudge sauce the smaller compartment with the helping of the fudge and chocolate coated digestive biscuit balls which are in small chunks.
When the fudge and chocolate balls have been stirred in together the taste is good it was better than i expected the yoghurt is smooth and you can taste the fudge and the chocolate balls when it is mixed ... ...recommend this yoghurt and comparing it to the Mcvities digestive yoghurt it is just as good. If, like me you don't like the ordinary Muller corner, this is a great subsitute it is great tasting. There are other flavours such as the Jaffa cake and the penguin and Mcvities digestive. ...
