Muller Rice is a range of dessert type products. Flavours include strawberry, original, toffee and a few others.
The rice is held within a round plastic pot with a foil lid. The Apple version can be identified by its blue and green design. I won't copy across the full ingredients list but it is worth noting that this each pot offers 7% rice, 4% apple and 2.5% apple juice from concentrate. Also included is milk and sugar. One pot offers 21% of your daily calcium allowance.
I have a sweet tooth and try to avoid buying too many desserts though I love Muller Rice and tend to stock up when they are on offer. They keep well in the fridge so I have something dessert like if I fancy it. They make a pleasant change from a standard yoghurt and I feel are ideal as an after dinner or breakfast snack so they are versatile. I do love the strawberry and original flavours but often buy the apple flavour hence my review.
The packaging keeps the contents fresh and on opening, the pot is almost full to the top with creamy, thick pieces of dessert rice. I usually eat this flavour cold though heat up, it makes a delicious Wintery sweet treat. Each pot is very substantial and filling. I find the apple flavour needs a good stir up at first to blend the rice and apple together. It is a little watery compared to other flavours. When mixed up well, this apple rice tastes yummy. I do love the creaminess offered by many of the Muller Rice flavours though due to the apple juice content, the rice is a little moister in taste and consistency. The rice pieces are quite firm yet soft enough to chew slightly then swallow. There is plenty of juicy flavouring from the apple which tastes fresh and light.
Unlike the other flavours, there is lots of fruit pieces mixed through the rice. The apple pieces are quite big and very easy to chew due to the softness of them. They taste very natural, sweet and add a lovely chunky consistency to the rice. The rice is fairly creamy and overall the dessert is full of flavour but does leave a slight bitter aftertaste.Muller Rice Apple may be expensive but it is very filling and tasty. It isn't my favourite flavour but nice as a change and to me, it resembles rice with a chunky apple sauce so really is something a bit different. Quite high in sugar and calories for what it is so one to have in moderation.
I recommend this as a dessert or snack and thank you for reading :)
