Canon MP620 All in one Printer
Advantages: Excellent Phot prints, excellent scanning, wireless capability Disadvantages: Slightly bulky, wireless can be tricky to set up
...around and came across the Canon MP620. It seemed to have all the features I was after including scanning, printing, card reader, photocopyer and wireless networking. Please note there are 2 other similar models in the range and as far as I know the MP610 is older and not wireless but slightly cheaper. Alternatively the MP630, which is more expensive is also not wireless but is faster in producing more prints per minute.
So far, since using it I ... ...printer. Great quality prints and excellent scanning makes it perfect for my needs. The wireless networking took a little time to setup and you may struggle if you don't know your way around your firewalls. However, you may be lucky and have a techy friend who can help. This printer, which costs around £100 is definitely the best in it's price range in comparison to it's competitors by Epson and HP. I find the 5 ink cartridge system is good for keeping ...

Canon Pixma MP140 - Best printer ever had
Advantages: Excellant Value for money. Disadvantages: None found as yet.
I got this product from Argos for the excellant price of £39.99. I was so impressed with the price I recommended it to 2 friends who also bought one and were very happy with the product. I print alot of things for my masters work and it has been excellant. The scan quality is also superb and it is so easy to do and download and email the copy's. On thing I found good was when you are printing a large document, it waits before printing the next page ...

Good printer for a reasonable price
Advantages: borderless printing, good ink consumption, also a scanner and copier Disadvantages: photo printing quality
I got the canon mp190 as a replacement for another canon printer that had proven very unreliable and the 190 is certainly a worthy replacement. The design is appealing, the printer also moonlights as a scanner and copier and ink consumption is reasonable. Borderless printing is an advantage that many other printers are not capable of. The software is easy to upload and simple to navigate. Print quality is very good for documents but could be better ... ...here even when on the optimum settings). The printer does not come with a USB cable but does need one for it to be used, so this is an essential extra purchase. There are two options for ink cartridges - low capacity and high capacity (40 and 41). I would have given this printer 5 stars but the photo printing quality dragged it down - if photo printing is important to you, I would suggest getting another printer but for every day use the mp190 is ...

Brilliant multifunctional printer / scanner
Advantages: Good value, reliable, stylish and reasonable quality Disadvantages: Suspect ICs on the ink cartridges
Bought this printer a few years ago, I wanted a device that would scan, photo copy, print documents and photos. The device uses 5 ink cartridges Big black for mono printing, then yellow, blue , red and wee black for colour and photo printing. This prevents the printer using all three colours to print black. Cartridges are reasonable at around £8 and I only need to change one at time every other month. One issue was the ICs on the cartridges, after ... ...to be replaced. The printer will warn for a few more prints then it will stop printing until the cartridge is replaced. This is very frustrating as you can see the cartridge clearly has ink but the chip says it’s done. Also if it is a colour cartridge you still cannot print mono!!! I found a work around this, you can disable this ink monitoring function that ignores the chips, this nearly double the life of the cartridges. The only thing, it is up ...

This is a good multi function printer which lacks in ink economy
Advantages: cheap, good functions Disadvantages: slow, gaps show when cartridge is newly installed, guzzles ink
...(dads!). Anyway I bought the Epson Stylus Office SX100 from Argos and it looked quite good.
It had photocopy functions as well as the printer which I'm sure would come in handy one day. The printer is reasonable, it is quite slow printing but as a colour printer I guess that's what is expected. The narks I have with it is its ability to guzzle through ink cartridges in very little time at all. Now i'm pretty sure I don't print that much but black ... ...strange also that in a colour printer it would be the black ink that ends up gone? Also sometimes when printing on a new cartridge I would get gaps in the words. This is usually rectified with a quick system clean inside but it shouldn't really happen in the first place. It is good value for money for the 2 in 1 functions it has and the catridges don't cost that much. Just would be nice if we didn't have to spend out so much on it! ...
